Just curious on this one. What do you reckon to watching the minis then?

I think they're entertaining, but afterall I am a petrolhead. ;D However, they're hardly at the level of racing that's seen in the Legends and the XR2's yet IMO - the Mini's have a lot of dear panels to be bent whereas this isn't the case to the same extent in Legends/XR2's, so I feel there could be some panel rubbing at least, however I know budgets are tight so is not always desirable! It'll get there soon I think, personally I think it was the biggest crowd puller factor for the first rounds at the start of April.

I think the reason we had so many spectators was because KH placed Ads in the Sun and there was a lot of other press coverage of the Mini series. I didn't notice too many folk walking away from the other races though like I remember happening when the BTCC pulled in 30k+.

They've got the potential to be good, once the prices come down and the drivers aren't so scared of any wheel to wheel action... I find they're quite entertaining little things, and I quite like watching them, but they're not up to the Legends and XR2s yet, by any means. Give it time, though, and they could get more exciting, as when there's a small group of them running together, they can look pretty good

Have to agree with everyone here...lol ( I should have been a diplomat ) TL, and GR are spot on. They are not on the same level as the XR2's/Legends but they definitely have potential for future races. And Dave is also spot on...the crowds that may well be there for the Mini's obviously have been enjoying the other racing going on too and haven't just disappeared after the Mini race. In saying that, we did have to leave early on Sun and there were quite a few people heading off after the XR2 race. But again a healthy crowd in attendance, let's hope it keeps up over the season. Hehe, I like that idea - would be good to see talented drivers in that car, rather than random semi-celebrities

As has been said several times already, the minis have promise but that's about it so far - theres usually a bit of a battle at the front but the rest are a bit nervous to get too close in case they dent their investments Got to give it time I guess but so far I'd take the XR2s any day... Can't belittle the crowd interest though, it does seem to be bringing some folks in to see the fun - and if they stay to watch everything else then it can't be all bad.

Hehehe - very good idea - it would save them having to trawl up some very dubious "celebrities"... a Radio Tay DJ?? Good grief  Doesn't quite work in the same way as the old Fiesta series celeb car did.

Its was a good idea to bring another class into scotland but too be honest i am sure there would of been a cheaper route! Its a good idea that you can drive your race car through the week( bit practice at the round about, hehe) then bring it up and race it but "Who is the only one profiting from this"may i ask? The man that supplies them and services and REPAIRS them.

I can understand the lack of panel-to-panel action being a problem, but when you've forked out so much money to acquire the car, it's not surprising they're quite cautious. But I ain't seen them yet, so to judge would be unfair

i took in a mini race at clarks with AK,,,,we tryed to get excited about it,,,and did for a wee bit,,,,BUT it is not the answer to club motorsport,,,,and who paid for all the mini hospitality and glamour that hangs around up that end of the paddock,,,was it my money??? I cant wait till the SMRC by the Zetec community a whacking big tent and take us on visiting rounds,,,Why do they have there own little prize giving,,,are we not worthy???

Got to agree with Mr Vincent on that one - the corporate hospitality and associated "hangers on" just seem totally out of place compared to the rest of the paddock - (roughing it ) but it seems to be one of those necessary evils to bring more people through the gates - and that seems to be happening.

Can't get too excited about it - if we didn't have a couple of cars out there, I probably wouldn't be too bothered about watching it.
Alan Keith is using Iain Cowie's car. He is not going to take any risks - certainly not contact. Let's face it, he can win the championship without winning each round...
I saw one good battle on Sunday with Jamie V-A and three other cars but no one was prepared to commit into the hairpin.
Too much of a procession for me...

Too slow and they don't handle.
Not entertaining.
Wouldn't have happened if it weren't for the usual SMRC old boy glee club with their patting each other on the backs whilst simultaneously lining each others pockets routine.
