Well, we're only a week away now for the opening round at Mallory Park - can't wait. The NSR ST is all done which is a good job since I can't test at Mallory (only car testing is wednesday morning). Although there are 37 cars entered for the championship, the numbers are down a bit for Mallory (unless there are a lot of late entries) - there are 9 STs for the first rounds though... N.

have you begun taking bets on the first panel to be dented? Was looking at sandys car at the weekend, do you have the same funky fibreglass door panels? Has a very funky roll cage in it too, but why different to yours and johns? Personal preference or is one better than the other?

I haven't seen Sandy's car yet - Dan rose fitted the funky door cards but it's purely for weight - mine is already down at the minimum so no worries.
The cage in mine was the first one and is the absolute dogs but it did cost a lot of money - both cage and manhours - ICR are now doing them in a cheaper and quicker way - they'll still be top quality but maybe not quite as trick as mine (and probably lighter too)...

Good result for Sandy Forrest. I take it the rest of the "established" ST regulars had a nightmare by the lack of reports on here.

Brakedisc - yep, you're not wrong - I had a nightmare start to the season and John's was even worse!!! I was well pleased with putting it on the front row without testing and it being the first time the car has been driven in anger - no probs at all so great work from the Kempster Ford guys and Dave Bolton and Ryan Stirling on the day - great trackside support. We'll post up the (short!) race report on the website soon-ish but effectively, I was about to line up David Abbott to get him on the brakes but before I even got chance, the car just went around exiting the Esses - really caught me unawares. Not entirely sure what happened but I'm thinking cold-ish tyres and it is bumpy through there but I didn't turn or brake - it just suddenly went. I'm interested in seeing the in-car footage as I had the AMG camera in the car... Rear end isn't too bad as I only skimmed the armco but the front end was a fair hit - the car is not as bad as it could have been considering the speed I was doing but there's still a lot of work to do before Silverstone. Only slight consolation is that it was only a single race meeting so only one DNF as we wouldn't have been able to fix on the day. Also, congrats to Sandy on his first outing in the ST and race win of course! Nick. www.nicksandersonracing.com

Apart from qualifying which went OK - 9th overall 5th from 10 STs) Day to forget big time I got a good start and screamed up the inside of the guy infront of me as did Andy Neate who qualified alongside me, then the guy infront of me seemed to turn into Andy who was spun straight in to me. I did a complete 360 and then speared off into the unprotected armco. Game over in a major way after about 200 yards. Car well f*cked. Andy was out in Dan Rose's championship winning car from last year and it is worse than mine and looks like it needs reshelling. I guess you will all have picked up I'm pi**ed off !!
Not much else to say really which is why nothing was posted

Sorry to hear of your woes. I suspected that something was up after looking at the results. I am sure all will be well for round 2. Good luck.

Cheers - yep, we'll be ready to make amends at Silverstone in a few weeks time. At least it was a single meeting so only one DNF - we drop our two worst scores so all is not lost...
We both had TV cameras in our cars so that could be good to watch!!!

Bad news is that we've had mine on the jig and it is well and truly twisted but nothing that the Kempster Ford boys can't sort out. Good news is we'll be ready to make amends at Silverstone in a couple of weeks time. fingers-crossed, John's will be fixed in time too but I don't think they've started taking it to bits to see the full extent of the damage yet ( ). Yes Boss! Sandy was always going to be quick even without much track time in his car - he didn't quite match Ben Roper's or my lap times but he stayed on the black stuff which always helps!!! He'll be right on it at Silverstone... N.
