To quote Mr C. himself "everything is repairable - it just depends on how much you want to spend!". Seriously though, that's good news - bearing in mind your engine has just been overhaulled so you won't need to spend money on that during the closed season. If you spread the repair bill out until next April, it might not seem as bad. You could set up a direct debit with Iain! I myself am trying to get a sponsorship deal with Polyfilla... You should get the half of your car that fell off from McIntyres Nick and sell it as pieces of the NS-R racecar to fund getting a new half put back on! Like football teams sell their pitches! ;D Dave.

Sorry to say Ghirlracer you made a miscalculation didn’t make it to 9th. Managed another 10th that’s my third now in as many meetings. Had a good race with Stevie Coull at the start of the final for 10th we were up with the front-runners then a gap behind us I just couldn’t get enough to pass him but about lap 4 decided to go for it at the hairpin.. found myself with neutral then went up in gears even though I was hammering them down.. Entered well out of control so on exit all over the place, caught the first and second but went over the edge backwards on the third and with wet grass sat for ages with wheels spinning watching everyone going past eventually rejoining 2nd last. Half a lap later and here’s Stevie rejoining after a spin at Macintire, if only I’d waited. Still I had fun and that’s my main aim and even the best make mistakes…. Colin Noble for instance… Smacked the tyre wall at the chicane bent left front suspension but he still made it through Clark only losing it into the gravel at the hairpin. Bet he let out a few choice words as he lost the Scottish Championship because of it . Well done to Jamie Clarke who is well deserved and delighted to be Scottish Champion… Today Scotland tomorrow the World ?? well we can but hope but you have to expect Colin & Jamie to show these Americans we ain’t country bumpkins with heather growing out of our ears. Car back home now so I should start the winter strip down and rebuild .. (I’m talking about the car not me.) Body looking a bit tatty now (I’m talking about the car not me.) Okay so I probably need some attention as well if I am to improve but as the oldest Legends driver I never expected to get as high as 10th place.. Pressure on for next year to do better. That’s one thing Legends take the knocks not like you XR2’s with your re-shells. Oh and Nick Who laughed at me going straight on at Duffus testing on 9th August? At least I learnt and didn’t do it a second time!!! Regarding accidents on Sunday my theory is it wasn’t the slippy track or poor car control by the drivers it was the dull conditions and all that Flash photography blinding us into missing the corners, I’ve never seen so many cameras flashing at other meetings. I thought I was a page 3 Girl with all those cameras flashing at my boobs! Hey Nick you agree with my story don’t you?

Yeah, it's funny you should mention that - I noticed going into Duffus the amount of flashes going off - I've never noticed them before...strange... I'm putting my spin down to crap driving on my part though... Going straight on at Duffus? You'd have thought that I'd have learnt after the first one. Funny thing was, after qualifying, my car was one that got picked on for the scales - it wasn't exactly going to be under weight considering I had half of Duffus Dip stuck under the bonnet! ;D Nick www.ns-r.co.uk

Probably wasn't my camera - I didn't use the flash half the time and I was never @ the top of Duffus - only @ the bottom and McIntyres. And Alasdair Thom was right -I went through a couple of rolls and should have the photos back next week. Oh and by the way - well done to Jamie Clarke on beating that guy who never retires - Colin Noble, who bears an astonishing resemblence to this banana man!!!!

Congratulation to Jamie if he comes on this forum. Michael - did you get any shots of the XR2 race 1 carnage down at McIntyres caused by some idiot in a Turquoise XR2? Nick www.ns-r.co.uk

Jamie better come on this forum. I've told him and most other Legends drivers about it. I know Gerard and Roger look in on the forum so far they only look and don't take part.... I think there is a word for that.... well at least there is when sex is involved!!! Tried to get Gerard to reply on the forum with me calling him a professional race driver, racing every weekend for the last 4 or 5 weeks - Legends, Lotus's, Bentleys and Caterhams. Got a cool reception from him on 14th.. Sorry Gerard only a bit of fun.

I spoke with ICR today who informed me that there is very little possibility of the car being fixed before the last race, even if I wanted it done. It would essentially have to go to Burnbrae who have a "jig" (I assume that doesn't mean they would dance round it, laughing) but Stewart Scott can't get the job done in time (must be running scared) so unless I can cadge a free hire of a car for October (I'm not keen on driving someone else's car in case the same happens again, anyway) it is definitely over for the season fo me. At least that gives me time to have a serious think about what I am going to do...

Very sorry Nick - wasn't at Knockhill for the first Legends and XR2 races. Other commitments you see - I play football for Aberdour U/15! But I always get up for the Lunch break! Talking of the XR2 race, I was on the outside of McIntyres and I think I've got a great photo of Sandy/Ian Forrest (I can never remember which one ) barging up the inside of Dave Colville (or Colin Robertson, sorry Nick I'll need to study for next meeting) and going off on the exit. I'll update you all when the photos come.

Michael
That would be Ian Forrest running up the inside of my car at McIntyres, but there was definitely no contact! I saw him out of the corner of my eye and it (stupidly) was enough to distract me and make me miss my braking point, so I ended up running VERY wide and droppping back to 4th. Just want to make sure that theres no false allegation that Ian hit me. Ian and I had a very clean first race too, passing and re-passing a number of times, before I managed to pip him at the line.
