On behalf of Euan (my brother) thanks to everyone for their expressions of concern. Understandably he cleared off soon after the accident but happy to report nothing more than a sore hand. Testimony to how strong the cars have been built.....
Kind words from drivers and marshalls alike much appreciated as I said.
Might as well tell you all now, but Daily Mail have been in contact with him and looks like they will be covering in the paper. Not sure when but presume tomorrow.....

You can see in the MP photos that it's rolling around in the back of the car long before the accident is over - he's VERY lucky.

Guys,
Seeing as this thread has been started, I thought I'd add my own comment. As a fellow driver in the race in question, my heart goes out to Euan for what is his second unfortunate accident this year. I myself was not aware of the extend of the incident at the time of the red flag. As a driver in the hot seat, there is always a little worry that that sort of incident could of happened to me. Infact, after the restart, it did nearly happen to me.
As Stuart mentioned, many people have passed on their wishes to Euan following this incident. What many people don't fully understand is the emotional and financial expense of such a crash. At the start of the day, Euan's car was sitting on the race track at a rough cost of £15k. This did not include his race fee and service/car maintanence charges for the weekend. Whilst I appreciate photographs will be taken during a race to capture the moment are great and inevatable, It really gets on my wick that this post was advertised within the "For Sale". Can we please take a little more tack and show Euan and Stuart some courtesy. If it were my car at the bottom of Duffus in such a state, I'd hate to think someone profited from my ill fortune.
Please don't think I am against media coverage or great action shot photographs such as these; cause I'm not. It's more how we handle ourselves with such that bothers me.

Ryan, a good point well made. Euan was upset and tried to talk the Daily Mail out of running the article. They refused. Probably one of these daft 'in the public domain' type things.
Would be nice to think that any profit made would be shared..... There is not a lot left of the £15k you mentioned.
At the risk of getting more controversial I'm interested in why it happened. We had ST's sliding all over the place which is very unusual - I've never seen it before nor experienced what I did spinning off twice in the space of a couple of laps.
I heard a suggestion that there was that there was fluid on the track?

If it were my car at the bottom of Duffus in such a state, I'd hate to think someone profited from my ill fortune. Please don't think I am against media coverage or great action shot photographs such as these; cause I'm not. It's more how we handle ourselves with such that bothers me. For the avoidance of doubt, before I began posting the SCR forums, I asked the administrators for permission to post up that the pics were available on my web site, and I was specifically told I could, but the post must go in the For Sale section as that was the most appropriate forum to post such a thread. So, please accept my apologies if it seems a bit tactless to be posting here, but bear in mind it's not just Euan's crash which is featured on the web site, there are nearly 200 non-crash photo's from Sunday's racing alone. In addition, the last time there was a major incident like this, which we were in a position to take photo's of (the Legends incident in August 2008), photo's of the incident were requested by one of the injured parties to see if they could figure out what happened. Those photo's were supplied free of charge. If Euan makes a similar request, I'd be happy to supply him with the pics of his incident. If anyone else would like any of the pics, including media, they are available to purchase from the web site. Whilst the financial cost for Euan must be even more painful than his injuries, please also bear in mind, the majority of photographers generally spend many times more on equipment than they recoup in a year selling racing photo's - just the same as the drivers of the racing cars. I know that the three photographers for motorsportphotographic.com (including me) have spent just under £10K on photographic equipment since January. I guess that puts all of us ('togs and drivers) into the same "what the **** are we doing this for?" catagory. Answer: 'cos we love it! I hope my reply doesn't seem insensitive, I'm really just arguing my side of the fence and give the discussion some balance. AndyP

At the very least the Daily Mail if running a picture on Euans accident should make a charitable donation, I would suggest to a marshals club. Fluid down on the track could be a contributing factor Stuart. It was strange how you spun at the hairpin, my car had a tiny moment however that may have just been down to my reaction to seeing you pointing towards me! When I arrived at Duffus I locked the brakes slightly then arrived upon Euans accident. My video footage isn't that great but it looks like he got well by the apex at Duffus before anything happened to him. Edit to add - Ryan is right, seeing that happening is a very sobering thought indeed. Sitting waiting back at the start line I was thinking should I even be doing this?

stuart, please pass my regards onto Euan as i was the 1st marshal on the scene, thank god he climbed out okay. i know he has lost a £15k car but it could have been so much worse
as for fluid, in the area of post 3 (mcintyres) the track was dry and clean as i inspected it myself before the race, i cant comment on the area going into duffus as i didnt see it closely

With regards to the pics thread being posted in the "For Sale" forum - guilt as charged. I was indeed asked if MP could post their link with regards to the pics here and as they are as relevant a part of the Scottish Motorsport scene as people selling car parts and safety equipment I said they could do so in the For Sale section and see no problem with them continuing to do so. And I'm not being insensitive as I've been there - they had a pretty cool sequence of the crash that wrote off my legend and put me in hospital in 2008. With regards to the fluid on the track, I believe the turquoise XR2 did 3 or 4 laps with some sort of steam and fluid pouring out of the engine after a frontal impact before he vanished just prior to the crash.
