- The guest driver in the mini! Everytime she was coming into the hairpin it was CRRRRRUUUUNNNNCCCHHH CRUUUNCH CRUNNCH. No wonder she wasnt out for race 3, the gearbox was probably in pieces. ;D Please dont tell me she has a race licence. Surley she must of had to obtain one as I doubt you can get any special rule to allow someone to race without a competition lisence. I did notice her on Saturday during testing, caught her a couple of times and well wasnt setting the stopwatch on fire But she looks doable and is slower so she's the perfect rival

according to knockhill website nadine did her ards earlier in the week but looking at the times in the wet she was 10 seconds slower than Gemma Dreelan and in the dry 15 seconds slower. sorry guys i can appreciate that she generated publicity but no matter how good looking she is she isnt a racer, as i have said before put a well known competent racer in the car. was lucky we didnt get a few cars wrecked yesterday

15secs slower!!! Never thought that was feasaby possible lol.
I would of thought you could get pulled over if you were going dangerously slow because like what almost happend at the chicane that could cause a rather serious incident in the wrong place especially with a rookie who is still learning.

She did say on the radio that a faster car had her off - which ended her Race 2. I didnt see it but a good guess was she didnt see blue flags or a faster car in her mirrors so there was an accident?
Theres no excuse for crunching the gears (not a little bit, 5 seconds or more at a time, every time) coming into the hairpin though, she wasnt coming in particularly hard or fast, just at normal speed, so as if you were coming up to a roundabout on the road - therefore basic driving. If you cant do basic driving how can you race a car?
Some people would love a chance to drive that car.

Did I hear it mentioned Anthony Reid is driving the Mini at the 5/6 Sept meeting? Can't wait for that he's a guy I've followed a lot.
They really need to start putting guys / girls that have experience behind them in that car - they obviously were running out of names - see "Skid Markz" for example.

- Peter Cruickshank in XR2 race 2! What was that all about, wrecked his car again and went backwards for most of the race. Someone accidently (I assume) hit the back of him quite hard at the hairpin, then passed, so Peter waited until his front bumper was in line with the guys back bumper and then turned across him, spinning him out. Im afraid from watching that drive he doesnt deserve to win the championship. Yes that was me that Peter spun off. The reason I hit the back of him at the hairpin was as I was up his inside he pushed me on to the grass making me lock up, as he could then stop quicker than I could I had no where to go and hit him. But then for him to position himself and hit me purposely to knock me off the track I think is truly shocking and very dangerous! He had also knocked Jay off a number off laps before !!!!, How does he think he can get away with that sort of behavior?

Settle boys, settle down . hell of a lot of testosterone ( or how ever you spell it ) on this thread not entirely sure if some of the comments that are being made about other peoples driving styles are valid, i was not there so cant comment but remember when you write it down, other people can read it. this is not a locked forum. just dont want anyone regretting writing something on here that can later come back on them
Dunc, re the holiday, had a great time, was sorry to miss the Gt meeting and the one on sunday but hey ho, when you book flights when your drunk you miss lots of things ;-)

I thought she was going to give way but thats not what happened. I don't blame anyone and nothing serious occured. I called her Monday to apologise as I think I and others gave her a scare... she appreciated the call but won't be back unsurprisingly! I personally think its a bit dangerous putting any novice out in the Mini's, as its truly ferocious at the front and not suitable for inexperienced drivers. For example when lapping slower cars the mindset is: "How can I make an advantage over my fellow competitor here" rather than "better slow up a bit due to the obstacle." David Sleigh

Hello Boy's, Just to let you know we have Antony Reid on the Saturday 25th September 2009 and Robin Liddell on the Sunday 18th October 2009 driving the Guest Mini. Hope those guys are not too slow!!!! The 5th and 6th September 2009 The Managing Director of the real Radio station should be driving the car and as he has raced bike before hopefully not to slow as we do not want the car damaged again. Regarding Mr Sleigh comments above "light contact" steering rack sheared in three places, wish bone bent, sub frame bent, wheel buckled. I am not going to complain or justify anything on this forum; I will post on u tube the video footage from the circuit cameras which show the incident very clearly. (Make your own minds up then). Regarding Skid Markz. The guest who was to drive the car that weekend was unable to do such for personal reasons so at the last min. Knockhill, the SMRC and the owner of the Guest car used this to get additional publicity. It worked, additional people on the gate, headline sports news on the Friday Radio Clyde and Radio Forth and a bit of FUN!!! Hope you watch the footage I will post a link as soon as it is up. Have a good day to you one and all and Club level Motorsport should be FUN.
