Well it's obviously not a person well known to the public or their presence would be used to promote the event. So I'll guess at Ben Collins or Chris Goodwin.

So I'll guess at Ben Collins or Chris Goodwin. could be a good shout, because its being so well covered up other ones i've heard is our own Alan Mcnish..... could explain why its being so strict as he is contracted to Audi..... you're just never gonna know ;D makes the weekend interesting! all i will say is its gonna be hard to keep a helmet on all the time in this "heat" thats forecast for this weekend ;D

By popular request: www.youtube.com/watch?v=tlwV_jmWmKQ&feature=channel_pageGot some others I'll upload tomorrow, too tired/overheated right now though - that was a scorcher! best weather I've seen at Knockhill in years, great day for the weather! Good racing also, though what was with all those red flags? Lots of incidents I guess, mostly out of my sight though, I maybe didn't pick the right corner this time

Think the sun got to a few people, the STs seemed to spend more time rocking gently on their windscreens upside down than on the track!
Had fun myself but struggled with the track conditions as the day went on, hence my spinny moment as posted above - it was very slippy in the final! Also had a fun moment when Scott Hynds lost his bonnet and it came flying at me!

that was oner heck of a day, it was frigging roasting in the probans, actually took my jeans of in the morning that helped lose some heat. was on post 10 so didnt have much to do thankfully but feel for the orange brethern elsewhere that had serious graft to do, quite a few reds and a few rolls.
thanks to the club for providing us with plenty of water, must have drunk 4 litres during the day and to the lovely huggable foxy aka karen folr being a great observer to work with and for looking after us

Magic stuff, thanks! Note that he's provided two excuses already! Well done to our "old" team Rory Bryant, two wins in the Fiesta STD His missus celebrated by spewing her ring all day, curious girl Shame it had to be a male marshall undressing though, now if it the blondie at Duffus that might explain the crashes....

I found out yesterday but if you want to know you'll have to pay me.. Scorching meeting totally knackered tonight. I am strangely pleased with today despite it probably being one of the worst meetings for results, DNF in Race 1 and 14th in Race 2. The positive is I lowered my personal best by 0.5 second over the weekend to 65.3 in Race 1 and I am feeling more racier..., that was before I run into the back of Chris Phillip at the chicane, lost the back end and proceeded to nudge the foam barriers on the outside of the chicane. Was running in 11th most of the race and following the 6th - 10th pack. Race 2 was a bit more hectic for me, all sorts of typical XR2 'rubbing' going on. Had one huge lock up later on at the hairpin, thanks to Martin for noticing me coming, saved a bit of damage. Thanks to the marshals and the club officials for organising and running today, I imagine us drivers probably had one of the easiest jobs.

Chicane incident noted, Mr M..... I was on there but at the wrong side for that race!
Catriona, you're right about the red flags. There were plenty incidents around the track. We at chicane called for 3 of them. one when an FF got stuck in the gravel, another when George Leitch's Mini Ogle was stuck with half the mini tyre barrier stuck under his car and the third when Andrew Morrison's MG went into the tyrewall hard necessitating a rebuild.
Mike's "moment" at Butchers also spotted...! Thought you were going to pop in for a refreshing drink but Frank Ogg did so instead! Great weather and plenty action. more please!
David

Was a damn good weekend, unusual Knockhill weather as in it didnt rain once Didnt have a great qual to start the meeting and in the 1st start of the 1st XR2 race I was getting swamped but the red flag saved me. Got a mega start (probably jumped ;D) and was having a good battle wi Fraser Shaw and then mike, managed to pass Mike up the front straight but the next lap he passed me up the chicane as he was alot better through the chicane and carlube. Set a new PB of 65.6 so was dead chuffed wi that 2nd race was battling wi Fraser again, was all over him but never really got a look inside. Then blair was harrasing me at the end but got helped by an ST passing him at the chicane when he'd of defo passed me. And nae probs for the lockup

Was a good weekend bar the 4 million degree weather. Qualifying was naff as was stuck in traffic so only managed 12th but ended up finishing in 6th which gave me a good starting place for 2nd race. Got the jump on Jay C at the beginning but couldnt hold the line going into 1st corner so lost the place but managed to get past Adams and take 4th after "slightly" bumping him when he got a bit sideways at carlube and i had no where to go. But brakes were cooked after another lap and had to brake very early into corners so couldnt hold him off so settled for 5th, which i am pleased with. Also lowered my P.B down to 64.9 so happy with that also.
Thanks to all the organisers and the people melting in orange

I had a lot of fun in the XR2 - first time back out since 2007.
It was interesting to see that the number of red flags doesn't really depend on the weather. Well done to all the marshalls for keeping things running.
Does anyone have any update on the contested result of the second XR2 race?

oh deary me Mr M, you know david wont be happy as he cherishes those floppies. was surprised to hear you getting a flag as you dont usually go fast enough to hit another car ;D only joking matey or are you planning on moving to legends as they used to take that floppy on a regular basis laughed at myself after the 2nd fiesta race, says to foxy "aye the lads behave there" she then pointed to just before post 8 and the white ST on its roof, doh
