See Class A is being split into classes for 4WD and 2WD.
Good compromise in my opinion.
Though it won't stop all the backbiting about talent, money, etc. ;D

It's the one series I've heard next to nothing about in the off season. Do we know who's running this year?

We are having an invitational class for big powerful old cars, Chris wants to see old vs new technology. Some names banded about last night at the AGM, Ron Cumming and the Doug Niven/Jeff Wilson/Mick Hill's Beetle. I am so excited, I might burst! As a footnote, can you please sign this petition: petitions.number10.gov.uk/saveCroft/Cheers!

Yes I remember it well. I also remember the look on Billys face when he realised how slow it was......... Pretty sure it was based on one of Robin Smiths famous Prosport tubs. Built for long distance racing and with a poor power to weight ratio, no match for a radical.
If you look deeper on that site you will find the Venturi that Sandy McEwan raced. Now there is a car that could give the Foci a run for their money. My most vivid memory of that car was it under braking for the hairpin. All 4 Carbon discs alight in the damp misty semi darkness that only an October Knockhill can supply.

Graham with Sandy driving, beating the foci? We spoke to Billy, as you said remarkably slow! Shame really, coz it was a good looking beast.

In the only test we did in the dry car, with Sandy driving, did a 52.3. Bearing in mind that was in 1998 and the track, especially for a big GT, is a lot faster nowadays.. I would suggest that the fragility of the car exiting the hairpin would be the limiting factor rather than the driver. I bet you could pick one up for pennies.

That Venturi was a fabulous car. Whatever was the problem with it at the hairpin, I never ever found out. The hairpin's changed a lot since then...might not be a bother these days.
