I've got a place on an apprenticeship scheme. Nice wage (yeh right, it will cover the petrol to get there!) but the bloody thing is, the thing starts on Monday 4th August which just happens to be my 18th bloody birthday. And here was me planning to be paraletic for the week...

Hmm well phoned them up, and I could be in training for 6 months - 1 year but there's no guarantee of a placement with a company, anything at all you see...
It would give me something to do, and some little cash, but I also got a letter today to say I've passed a test which means I am suitable to become an Electrical Engineer. The organisation that I sat the test with sends out the succesful peoples name to companies, I hope my name jumps out at one of them.
Was in Glasgow yesterday too to sit a test to enter the Heating, Ventilation and Refrigiration industry, I hope I've passed that one.
I'm reluctant to accept the first offer as it has no guarentees of a job, but the other two most certainly do..

Take the first offer and then jump ship if/when a better one comes along, or stall as long as possible before accepting.

And here was me planning to be paraletic for the week... As part of growing up why not take the opportunity to be a bit more sensible with the old fermented veggie drinks? Good luck with the placement though.

Well done TL And I'd agree with Charlie, take up the first in the mean time and if something better comes up you can always leave and do that. Best of luck whatever you do mate... Jaffa6
