Front end looks much better Dave. Have you noticed that the steering wheel is missing yet?

Looks pretty neat. What's the heat exchanger out the front? Looks too thick piping to be an oil cooler so I guess it must be the intercooler?

Cheers! ;D Dave your right the big shiney aluminium one on the front is a intercooler, behind that is a fan, behind that is the rad and to the right of the rad you can just see it is the oil cooler! Dave.

Dave
That is indeed a fine looking machine, and I look forward to seeing it used in anger sometime.
I do have a question though.
Why is it that people like yourself will spend a lot of time and money producing a track car like this when they could be spending that time/money on racing?
Don't take offence, I just want to hear your take on the whole track day vs 'proper' racing thing.

First of all id say you only rarely see cars with this amount of time and money spent on them at Knockhill trackdays however visit private days or night and you will see loads of examples - guys who really like cars and like diy!
The main advantage for me is that I can do what I like when I like! ie I can do anything I want to the car - no regs! And if I dont want to go to the track this week because I cant or cant afford to or the car needs work done then so be it!
I really dont have the budget just now but I would love to take it out in the Scottish Saloons! I believe all I need is door bars, a extingusher system, cut off system and a transponder. I have my go racing pack - 2002 form and have done my medical but not the ards yet!
Dave.

It'd be really cool to see you out in that in the Sports & Saloons class cos it's a pretty rare specimen!!! What a lot of you has said makes sense. That's definitely one of the areas I'd fear if I ever get out there on the track myself.... Personally, myself, I love cars but I really am not the kind of person who could do well at mechanical work, I'd need to find someone else first...

We've been watching that car grow for some time... I yearn for the day we get to see it complete it's journey and appear in the S+S!

Hey Dave - if you get the car ready but haven't got your license sorted out, I'm sure I could enter it in the S & S for you... Stewart Scott took the spare Burnbrae car out in the S & S yesterday and won the class (granted - he was racing against a mini!). Your trackcar would probably be in the same class as the cossies and John Muir's starlet though... Nick www.ns-r.co.uk
