Swiftly moving on from increasingly dodgy swear jokes (must re...sssist temp...tat...ion :banghead: ), i'll give my reason for being unable to turn up for the 20th October (and missing the subsequent  a thon  ) - I won a prize weekend in Blackpool Four star accomodation, free wine and the illuminations - people can knock the place, but it's impressive come tattie holiday time, going up the tower, down the pleasure beach and blowing £50 on the amusements. For the record, I went on the big one and the only regret was having a couple of  s before and they nearly got vengance when the sobering sight of ground 200 feet down became apparent :uhoh: . Can't remember who the sponsor is now, but the ride formerly known as the the Playstation was equally nauseating. Never again will I subject myself to such vicious g -forces (unless of course someone gives me a shot in a McLaren F1 ) So that's now a holiday, a hangover (twice) and an almost written off car that's kept me away . I should have another one of the latter by next March though, hopefully making more regular appearances in 2003

Hope so - you missed plenty of good racing this season, anyway! Blackpool sounds interesting... KF wants us to go there for a weekend sometime, but considering how much I enjoyed visiting M&D's a while back (well, I liked the gentle rides..... sadly the first one I tried was the Flying Carpet - never, ever again!!! [ok, there's another smilie to look for! ]), it could be an interesting experience.....

i'll give my reason for being unable to turn up for the 20th October You missed some great racing and intense cold I remember it well - though as I recall I spent a fair bit more than £50... :uhoh: have to be a bit more sensible next time I'm there You're braver than me then - couldn't quite convince myself to go on that one when I was there.

Just spotted your sig, Speedy - nice one! Think the same would have to apply to Ross County... well, except against Arbroath, I guess! ;D Partick had better stay up, anyway - it's going to look mighty bad on the rest of the 1st division if they don't, after the way they thrashed us all last year! :blackeye:

Good one :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl: I think the whole deal with the thrillseeker holidays being given away is that's it's this time of year (when English schools are still in and there's the 1-2 week break up here), the adventure parks are almost in hibernation and at their least crowded. Last year on a similar trip to Alton Towers a whole bunch of us got on Nemesis 6 times in an hour, and 4 shots on the Oblivion within the same time framework. That's why i'd quite fancy a shot at a passenger ride in an XR2 - should be easy meat in comparison That's the tricky bit - once you're on, bye! You can't shut your eyes at 200 feet either - the G-forces just pull them back open  I was at the Dundee Utd game past Saturday, and they ain't playing like they're going to stay up. Need a striker who can put away goals and win games, simple as that  Edit - though the way Dundee Utd are playing, they might get away with it

Actually, the way the 1st division's going, they'll likely stay up, whatever happens... no-one down here likes the SPL ground rules much, as there's not going to be any promotion this year unless St Johnstone or St Mirren get their act together mighty fast! :blackeye: Can't see the point of needing 10,000 seats when most people's average attendance is more like 3,000, myself....

What, Even with me driving:evilgrin::crazy: Ah, but that'd be a passenger ride in a rallycross car, not an XR2!

Ah, but that'd be a passenger ride in a rallycross car, not an XR2! Another 2003 possibility being explored:laugh::laugh::laugh::rotfl::dozey:

Last time I went off roading, , it was a game of chicken in the olds's car on farmland against a rock and some fenceposts - I lost :uhoh: :banghead::banghead: (On the plus side, it was a Vauxhall Nova - i was probably doing them a favour  )

Oops! ;D Though if if was a Nova, you were almost certainly doing them a favour - those things look kinda prehistoric these days

My first car was a maroon saloon version of the Nova - loved that car!! It became an interesting hybrid of mostly 1990 G Reg rear end and various 1986 C Reg front end pieces after an idiot farmer in an Astra Estate ventured off his dirt tracks and assumed a red light meant "Sure!, Go flying round the corner as quickly as you can - it's fun!!" and punched a hole in it Wonder where that car is now? (If I found out it had met it's end at Cowdenbeath Race Wall in the Banger racing I'd be suitably chuffed. )

That would be a nice exit After my trip into the scenery, what was left ended up being sold to the local breakers for 50 quid (£49.50 more than it was worth ). No injury thankfully, though i think the olds quite fancied taking a few limbs off me at the time

That would be a nice exit Certainly would - I'd love to do that with every car I owned just to give them a good send off Though my last Fiesta wouldn't have been a good idea - it leaked so much oil that it probably would have resembled something of a fireball as soon as someone hit it... :uhoh:
