Just got confirmation that I've been added to the insurance on KF's car, so finally I can practice somewhere other than the paddock and access roads at Knockhill! ("So that's why that Fiesta keeps kangaroo hopping around the place after the racing's over", I hear you say ) Time to hunt out my L plates... ;D Note to you all - avoid the road between Perth and Coupar Angus at nights and weekends (plus any other days off KF may have) for the forseeable future - you have been warned!

Muahahahh!!!
Sure I won't be that bad, though - if I can get round that rally course on the access roads at Knockhill I can do anything! ;D

The A92 between Stonehaven and Dundee full of maniacs going at 120mph (and no cops to stop them) at rush hour will prove you wrong Especially when i'm on it :uhoh::rolleyes:

Lol! ;D KF knows that road well, btw - he lived in Forfar till a few months back, and worked in Dundee till a few weeks back! Been along that road myself a few times, too.... pretty easy to go quite fast if you're a confident enough driver (not driven it myself yet)!

:banghead: a harsh lesson in the way of black ice that one..
The problem with the A92 is that there are speeders, but even when the police have speed guns taking it, they don't seem to be doing much  ...

Agreed about the black ice - jack-knifed lorries are a common sight on that road in the winter and there have been two fatal crashes involving lorries on the Forfar bypass section of the road in the past year and a half...:uhoh: You can really bomb it along that road though... it's a clear 12 miles between Forfar and Dundee and the journey just zips past... too straight for it's own good that road - bit boring

Plently of potential for speeding, though towards the Stonehaven end there's much more in the way of sharp corners and blind dips ( no, not me  ) and pesky tractors. Most bizarre incident I ever recall was my father who hit a deer (which jumped blind from the right hand side on a straight bit of road) head on just outside Kineff  -both the car and deer were write offs . Really bizarre, and believe me, it's a far from boring journey much of the time

Ouch - seen plenty of deer up in the Highlands, but that's on pretty minor roads, generally! Had a few near escapes, but amazingly my dad's only ever gently tapped one in the eleven years he's been driving around there! Considering he's done a lot of driving through various jobs (postman, minibus/taxi driver, school bus driver, parcel delivery....) during the time he's been there, and most people hit at least one deer every few years, I think he's been lucky
