Sometimes I amaze myself at how little I know about club racing given that I have been doing it for nearly 18 months.....
Anyway, I am potentially looking to buy a trailer for my XR2, almost certainly a second hand one. The new Brian James ones look great, but £1200 is a bit much!
What should I be looking for? Obviously the car has to fit on it, but beyond that I don't really know what I should be looking for. Would anyone like to offer me any guidance?
All (sensible!) replies most welcome. And if anyone knows of a suitable second hand trailer on the market.....

Norm,
The best person to speak to would be Iain C. I'm sure he wouldn't mind and he might actually have one for sale !
Cheers,
John
PS Nice to see a pic of my car after your name

I sort of paid £500 for my trailer as I did a deal when I bought my first car. Mine is all aluminium and was purpose built for a Fiesta.
As you say, a brand new Brian James (the best) are 1200 + VAT - keep an eye on the motorsport magazines and one should come up.
If not, try Iain as he may know someone down south who has one for sale.

Hi Everyone!
Norm, Try looking in the Ad Trader (yellow paper on Wed. and blue paper on Sat.) I get a lot of spares through the Ad Trader and my trailer only cost £200, o.k it's not the best but it does the job!
Good Luck!

Meant to say -
Look for a twin axle trailer cause its more balanced when towing, and the lower the better - if the ramps are too steep the car bottoms out, and I know how akward this is from experience!

Hiya Derek! Glad you found the board - how go the preperations for next year after the unfortunate sabbatical at the end of this season?

Is that Derek of the McDougall variety then?
Hope you can make it back out in 2003...

Different engine on the way KF (notice how I didn't say new!) Just bought a set of ledas so the funds don't quite stretch to a new engine.
Looking forward to next season Nick, hopefully with a bit more reliability!
And I am of the McDougall variety! lol

Norm,
If you look on my forum, Dave (who is a marshall at Knockhill) has a trailer for sale which suits a fiesta.
His phone number and details are in the post.
Nick.
