hi all, just to let you all know that i do come in from the garage on the odd night and read the forum, since i seem to spend most of the holiday season in the garage.( best place to be i think ? peace and quiet) anyway the winter revamp is well under way on the no 75 car. the car is well and truely in bits spread all over the garage at present. ( by the way does anybody know if you get a haynes manual for the legends as yet??? ;D) most of you will know the car wasn't too bad but it is surprising just what is wrong with the car once you start looking closer into it. (mind most of the drivers on here will know this as they are doing the same thing as me at present, hopefully) the steering is a wee bit dodgy to say the least. i will need to visit Ali at knockhill soon for some new parts but that can wait a week or so. ( motorsport show first) anyway the car should be back on it's wheels once again in a week or so minus an engine and the body parts as they are away to the sponsors who help me out with these parts. mainly "wee bob" at Grant Motorcycles and the guys at "bike paints"( sorry for the plug GR) but as for the paint scheme i don't know as yet?? either do they !!! i think you will all have to wait and see ( me too) so there you have it some info about what rocket racer spends his time doing on these "cold winter nights"

Hope you have a heater in that garage cause it can be bloody freezing sometimes. I helped my old man rebuild the front of an MG 1300 and it's truly gobsmacking the amount of parts you need that you never thought you would! Interestingly, when I was coming out the car park today in Ayr the wee attendants box had a digital thermometer hanging outside...it said -6 degrees C !!!!!!!!!

Wish we had central heating - this place is absolutely freezing!!! Doesn't help that the ceiling's about 10ft high, so all the heat is way above our heads Hope this cold spell doesn't last too much longer... the next electricity bill's going to be horrendous, I think, even if we die of hypothermia in the meantime!

I remember working at Knockhill with Charlie stripping my old car down after I totalled it. We were working in the garages around February time - I've never been so cold in my life!

Knockhill in February..... :uhoh:
It's bloody freezing here tonight - my car froze up in 45 minutes sitting in the carpark at my work tonight - the full works... icicles hanging from the front bumper, frozen condensation on the inside of the windscreen and frost on the outside... this time of year sucks :blackeye:

It's not too bad here in Aberdeen at present although I think it will soon be getting worse - not really had much snow yet.
Sometimes at Knockhill when you are working in the cold garages, your fingers actually stick to the spanners! That's only because Iain 'Scrooge' Cowie won't put the gas heating on!!

absolutely frozen up here (-17 in Aviemore  ) - methinks the snow is on the way :uhoh: I'm dreading the day it arrives here - we live at the bottom of a dead end which has a nice hill all the way up to the main road... and the council don't grit it. On those days it looks like I'll have to dig out the arctic survival gear, tennis shoes and husky sled to get to work. :dozey:
