Haven't spotted this mentioned anywhere else yet.....
This weeks Motorsport News has the National motorsport calendar, and this confirms something which Iain Cowie implied to me a few weeks ago - the Croft round in early September is only for Legends and Minis.
I know there has been some grumbling here about the cost of going to Croft, but I would have loved the chance to race somewhere other than Knockhill.

Got the feeling it's not really going to be worth me and KF finding the money to get there now, then... we'd have been there for sure if all the series were going down, but if there's only two series travelling, that's a different story, sadly :s

They obviosly don't want to see exciting racing like the Catrehams and XR2s. Their loss.

Umm, no. I love the Legends but I don't think we can justify the expense and so on just to go to Croft for that... :s Wasted oppurtunity.

..wait until we get the SMRC "Blue Book" - we will know for sure the 2003 dates then - it must be out soon as the season starts soon and we have to fill out the entry forms and get them posted off to the secretary.
I was speaking to Iain the other day but things are not good in the ICR camp at present, as sadly Iain's mother also passed away last week.

I suppose we have to assume that we will be racing on the muddle of dates we have weaned out of all the posts and websites. Would be nice to know whats what from an official source. Cant beleive the sad state of affairs on the SMRC web site. I'm sure if they mentioned in the newsletter that they needed someone to take over the site, they would find at least one person willing to get it up to date at the very least

Touring,
If that is a genuine and serious offer to help with the smrc website, I will mention to one of the committee. I assume they would not be able to pay you and it may be that there may not be a meeting of minds on other things either (control of content, frequency of updates etc etc) but I am happy to put someone on the smrc committee in touch with you and let it develop from there.
Why don't you mail me some details of what you have in mind, a bit about you etc so I can relay this to the committee member.
John
