The car is no longer on eBay as the auction has ended. However I did not get the required price so it is still for sale. I will probably relist it on eBay soon, and will also advertise elsewhere, so keep an eye out. Alternatively, you can contact me at cwinter8@yahoo.com. Chris

Wow, is the going rate on those cars still £5000? Or is it because Knight had all the extras etc?

KF... Olly Mortimer's car is up for sale for £7000 if you're interested...!! Dave That's an incredible amount of money for an XR2, and somewhat out of my reach This time next year I may be looking into the possibility of getting hold of an XR2 (should I be capable of passing the ARDS and so forth) but I'd be looking at one of the lower end "rustbucket backmarker" options

Money spent buying this car off me will be worth every penny - I've heard it's capable of 65sec laps!!

It still surprises me how much some of these cars go for Alex's car was capable of 65 second laps. KF, if all you're looking to do is get started, then I wouldn't worry about spending anything like five or seven grand on a car. Maybe spend two or three to get yourself out onto the track and get some racing experience, then look at something more expensive if you're still enjoying it and want to move on up. That's my plan, though thus far the extra cash has went on the same car rather than selling it and buying another. There's a personal challenge in it for me to build a faster car, rather than just buying one. Baz
