I originally bought this to run through the winter, so I could garage my S2 Elise...I've now got a Renault Avantime as my daily driver , so the golf must go... 1987 Graphite Grey 3 door Mk2 Golf GTi 8v MOT 12/04, Taxed till June, 135k miles (I think), some s/h... Tough as old boots tank - Completely bog standard, bar the full stainless steel exhaust (Twin DTM pipes, whooo! ;D - Crusty o/s sill, and a few cosmetic scabs, solid interior with no rips/tears... In my ownership (November 2002) it's had: Full service, plugs/belts/filters, and also brighter headlight bulbs New s/s exhaust (a £300 when new item!) Gear linkage rebushed / rebuilt - (But still pretty pants!) New ignition switch fitted in March 2004 (I've also got some bits and bobs - New mild steel exhaust, G Max 40mm drop springs, and a brand new set of Monroe Shock Absorbers...) It's not going to win any Club GTi awards, but it's a tough old bus, ideal for anyone needing a disposable runaround, which is simple enough to work on... (It's actually still quite fun to drive - The engine has lots of torque, and the body control is good...Unfortunately the multi-brand remoulds have little grip, despite 4mm of tread all round, but I suppose it keeps you on your toes... ;D) Do I hear £350 for a hot hatch with 8 months MOT & 2 months tax? Cheers, Ross.
