Well that was a surprise! Hope they do it properly and not in the slightly "budget" style they did when they had it originally. No adverts will be good though. I want the following to happen : DO NOT BRING JAMES ALLEN ACROSS FROM ITV. Bring back Murray. Under no circumstances should James Allen be involved. Bring back "The Chain" as theme music. No James Allen. Get Steve Ryder back across to the BBC. He's not brilliant, but I associate him with motorsport after my fanatical watching of F1 in the earlyish 90s and the BTCC on Granstand back in the olden days. Did I mention not having James Allen involved would be good? www.petitiononline.com/bbcf1ben/petition.html That's a petition someone set up to get Ben Edwards doing the commentary. Look at all the anti-Allen comments.

It's good news. I think ITV had a few years left on the deal however I think Bernie Ecclestone instigated talks with the BBC since ITV want more football these days.
My ideal lineup would be Martin Haven or Ben Edwards and Martin Brundle commentating. Steve Rider holding the fort with Johnny Herbert providing insight.
I'm not sure if you want ride of James Allen, Mike, but I would like to see him left at ITV.
And please god don't bring back Murray Walker. Let him enjoy his retirement. And forget about the chain, that is so last century..

About time, i hate the adverts!! Bring back Murray just for the first lap then let him put his feet up after that... you can't beat the "And its GO GO GO!" chant as your telly is at full volume. You just have to have the Chain intro music, I don't care if its 80ish. There is no other song that gets the blood pumping quite like that!! In fact I'll put up a poll thread to decide.

Be even better if BTCC took the same route and dumped Sultana or whatever they're called.. Be great to get BTCC and the support races on BBC...... Mind you - in Scotland they'd probably decide to transmit a fitbah match instead

BTCC isn't on Setanta any more, Dick - it's on ITV4 this year.

I'll take the ads to get all that live coverage.
I've no doubt the BBC would do better on the BTCC nowadays, however I remember the old days, particularly them cutting the highlights in half and missing out the sprint race!

Ditch Steve Rider - not as bad a Rosenthal but not much better. Ditch "barrow boy" Blundell with his mixed metaphors. Maybe ditch James Allen - but only if they get Ben Edwards, Charlie Cox or Ian Sowman. Although I'm not the biggest Ian Sowman fan as he accentuates the G in "Strong" Keep Martin Brundell (a MUST!!!) And NO Muddy Talker! The rest? Take them or leave them.

Why keep any of the current ITV lot there all useless especially Steve Rider, how can any of you think he's good?
BBC can move Susie from her beloved Bikes to front it and Ben Edwards doing the commentary with John Watson for expert knowledge until Davidson looses his F1 seat then he can take over.

Ali I've read Suzi Perry aint interested at all in cars. Shame. As long as Martin Brundle is kept I'll be happy. His insight and grid walks are the best part of the ITV coverage.

Murray's past his sell-by day - he was great in his day but let's move on before his trousers catch fire and do him a nasty. Susie Perry to front it, Martin Brundle for the knowledge, Johnny Herbert for the pit lane and Ben Edwards or Charlie Cox to do the commentary. However I bet the BBC use David Croft who has being doing the Radio 5 Live stuff as he'll be cheaper !!
