So with the exciting prospect of a Croft race this season, a bit of info for those of us who don't have a clue, please?  Do all the SMRC classes go down? If so is it SMRC only on race day or are there any local championships running? Is there anything happening on the Saturday as well? I know theres 9 months until this all happens but it's pretty exciting |

What I'm really curious about is how the schedule seems to have everyone visiting Croft on the weekend of the 6th/7th, and then back at Knockhill again on the 14th! That'll be a logistical nightmare for the likes of ICR in particular - how on earth do you get a dozen or so XR2s, plus half a dozen (or more!) Caterhams 200-odd miles home (when the furthest they usually get moved is into that garden when the big series come visiting ), and repair the (probably heavy) damage sustained in the Croft races, all in seven days? :eek: Could be mighty interesting, anyway.... though I suspect it may just mean the less well-funded drivers skip Croft :s Anyone got any ideas how that'll work? Doesn't seem the best of timing, tbh, especially when I noticed some pretty big gaps in the calendar earlier in the year... not that I'll ever complain about two races in a row, from a fan's viewpoint! :cheese: |

Think I'm getting confused here... :uhoh: The timing of the Croft trip (if it's correct) is pretty silly if there really is an SMRC meeting at Knockhill the week after... surely those in command can see that for themselves without other people having to point it out to them! |

KF - I'll post details nearer the time as we don't know ourselves yet.
I presume that all SMRC classes will be going to Croft in September. I have got a map of the circuit, a brief history of the circuit and a lap of the circuit on my site for you.
We will probably be staying at the Sundial hotel which is a few miles away. It's quite cheap, has nice food and is a short walk into North Allerton - i.e., lots of pubs.
All the cars are usually taken down together on Burnbraes hugh transporter - quite a site in itself. That way, the transportation costs are evenly split between all the drivers, keeping the cost down.
I have a video of Croft from 2000 which is worth a watch - I'll lend you it next time I see you. It shows me spinning at Tower whilst trying to miss Steven Gray and a comedy moment when John spins at Clervaux but then couldn't get the car into reverse so it took him about 3 days to get back onto the circuit!
