Read the following regarding Octagon's Season Ticket and explain to me why the Knockhill version isn't a rip-off again?
I appreciate Knockhill can't afford to go to the extent of knocking loads off the price of the tickets but on a like for like basis that's just insane!!

Although prices like that could well explain why Octagon are having financial trouble and are wanting to sell one or more of their tracks... still makes Knockhill's pricing look very bad, though :blackeye:

The Knockhill page doesn't want to display properly under Mozilla for some reason. I do have IE6 but it's the principle of the thing dammit.

For 2002, a single ticket was £80... several people have said it's going up by £16 for 2003, though, making it £96....

£96 = far too much :blackeye:
particularly for the long haul enthusiast who spends a tank of petrol a go, it's not really worth the small saving

It would be nice to think that any extra cash generated from the hike would go towards improved facilities, but I guess that's not likely.

Speedy - my thoughts exactly. If I was still having to travel down from the Highlands, I wouldn't even consider the season ticket deal this time, and that's saying something. As it is, I might think about it if Knockhill find a few more meetings, but they'll still have to get the saving up to a good bit more than it's looking likely to be at the moment... if they're wanting more money out of this, I suspect they'll be disappointed :blackeye: I can see the point of raising it overall, cos for the people who like the bikes as well, it's ridiculously cheap, but for those of us who only like one or the other, it's time for a dedicated ticket for the cars or the bikes, at, say, £65 or something - nice big saving for the fans, but a good bit more than half the overall season ticket price, so everyone's a winner that way. Certainly hope any profits they make out of this go into the facilities or whatever, like mcgarrett says - tbh, I can't quite see what the fuss about "poor facilities" being the reason for the BTCC leaving is all about (this is motor racing - if you want good facilities, go to a shopping centre... I don't see rally fans complaining about the non-existant facilities they get! ), but if it'll give us a better chance of getting more series to visit, then it'll be worth it Plus I have to admit I'd appreciate not having to walk halfway round the track to find a toilet if I'm at Clark or somewhere..... :cheese:

Don't despair all is not lost. Rumour has it that the SMRC are to fill the missing events. (Possibly at other circuits to)
Hooray! More XR2's and Legends (possibly new Mini's too):cheese:
Stuart, double the price, you know they love us:evilgrin:

(Possibly at other circuits to) Thing is, that's only a good thing if there are extra SMRC events at Knockhill... hold them at far off places like Oulton to which most fans can't afford to travel to and which your season ticket wouldn't get you into anyway and it just makes things worse! A few more SMRC events at Knockhill, ASCAR and anything else that can be brought up here in the meantime would make the season ticket worthwhile. I'm still to be convinced.

Might just do that... it'd be way better for Knockhill than them losing a stack of season ticket holders altogether, anyway, which looks likely at the moment... :s
