You'll never believe this, in a strange turn of events Team Dynamics are back to the BTCC, with the Nissan Primera and Matt Neal from Snetterton. Nice saloon car eh!
Not!!!!
Heres the official TD blurb which has a few errors concerning the rounds in it:
Team Dynamics & Howell return to BTCC – Reloaded!
Independents Cup race winner Gareth Howell and 6 times Independent Championship winners Team Dynamics Motorsport, the most successful team to ever run in the British Touring Car Championship will make their return to the BTCC for 2003 when they appear in rounds 11 & 12 at Snetterton on the 9th August 2003.
The name Team Dynamics and the British Touring Car Championship are synonymous having competed for over thirteen years within the uk’s highest profile motorsport series.
Their penultimate year has to have been in 1999 when superstar driver Matt Neal scooped £250,000 for being the first and only Independent team driver to beat the might of the manufacturer teams in race two outright in the first meeting of the season at Donington Park. The following year Team Dynamics and Matt picked u another race win at Brands Hatch, unfortunately this time the prize money was far less!
Howell, from Bromley, will be driving a Vauxhall Astra Coupe, which will be run by Team Dynamics Motorsport.
An elated Gareth, who has already competed in rounds 5 & 6 at Silverstone and spent the first 3 rounds commentating on the support races for MotorsTV, said, "Ever since Silverstone, Steve and the Team Dynamics guys have been working round the clock to get us back out. I think we showed then that we were on the pace straightaway and we both have some unfinished business in the Independents Championship. I know it’s not a night race but I love the atmosphere of the evening racing on the Saturday at Snetterton. Last night race in 2001, I scored my first win in the BTCC and a second. In the Fiestas in 1999 and 2000 I finished 2nd in both races, so I can’t wait.
As usual, its going to be "in at the deep end" again but I’m starting to like it that way! We learnt a lot very quickly last time out and one of the things was that the Astra is a really driver friendly car. This time out though, there is not so much pressure as we know that we will be out there competing for the rest of the year and by Oulton should be back mixing it with the works teams.
Howell, 22, is a former British Karting Champion and winner in the Production class and, last year, in the Independents Cup.
