Caterhams / Minis

I spoke with a little birdy recently and rumour has it that there could be as many as 14/15 Caterhams out next year.

Early indications are about the same number of Minis with a few well known XR2 faces distinct possibilities amongst them.

14-15 Caterhams?? Wow - that'd be great if it happens! :up: The racing's generally good with just six or seven of them (well, it is among the people who aren't strung out along the track ), so that many should make for some great entertainment. Here's hoping it happens

Sounds like a decent takeup for the Minis, too... pity they won't be at Knockhill as often as the rest of the SMRC classes, but I'm looking forward to seeing them

From what John has written it seems that there are going be several drivers changing formula for next year. What ones are people aware of? I heard of a Fiesta driver moving to Formula Fords, "the driver who finished 4th in the last race of the season" - any truth in this one (if my calculations are correct then think that the person concerned is on this board!).

The Caterham and Mini numbers are very good news, but hope the Fiestas can keep the numbers above 30 so that we keep getting qualification races.

Interesting career move there... should be fun to see how he goes He's not on this board, though, unless he's the unidentified "Milkman" - seen him on the Knockhill forum, though, so hopefully he'll find his way over here sometime (Anyone want to put some subtle plugging over in his direction? )

I'd imagine the XR2 numbers should stay relatively high, hopefully - they're really popular with the fans, anyway, and considering the relative cost, they'd likely be the first place for newcomers to go

From what I heard there may be a few XR2 guys having a go at either of the Caterhams or Minis whilst still perhaps doing the XR2's.

I would also expect there to be a few new faces in the XR2 ranks so numbers should be aboutthe same as before.
