Anyone got any confirmation that Gordon has indeed signed to drive alongside Matt Neal and Gareth Howell this year?

(With apologies Mike if I am just quoting back the source of your question!)
Motorsport News said yesterday that he is spending the week with the team, and it had a quote from the team boss that to me sounded positive (though was not definitive).
Would be great to see him out regularly in a strong car.

Would be great to see him out in any BTCC car! As I recall he's never driven a proper one - only a production class Focus... it's about time he had a chance in a tourer.

Mike, If you are talking about in 05 I think it was Jillian that was driving that Focus, it would really good to see Gordon getting a BTCC drive in 06.
By the way was that you and the good Lady in B&Q last week, was in a rush or would have said hi !
Are any of you comming to Knockhill on Tuesday to watch the Legends Test Day.
Regards Andrew

Steve Neal has apparently confirmed the deal, though there's not been written confirmation yet.
Well done to Gordon though, he had to find £250,000 for that.

I think Mike was referring to 2001 when Gordon drove a Production Focus when they were mixed in with the full BTCC spec cars to make up numbers. I'm sure the Prods started the races ahead of the TCs and Gordon got a 3rd and a 6th.
Autosport today says that he does have the Honda drive though Steve Neal says it's not official yet. He was told he'd get the drive if he put up a good show in a test in Spain which he did! It says a 3rd car is a possibility with Howell as the most likely driver.

IIRC both Tourers and Production car's started at the same time, although the Production cars were a lap ahead in essence as they completed 1 less lap than the Tourers.
