Given the horrible weather forecast for the weekend, anyone know who/what will be out at the test on Sunday? I need some encouragement to entice me to stand in the possible rain/gales should they happen (GR has just helped a bit by telling me the forecast is a little better.)

Well, there'll be loads of marshals there cos it's our training day!!
I think weather forecast is OK now..... better be! Training day last year was a superb day weatherwise. We even had the loony hot hatches for entertainment!

Is the marshalls training in addition to the testing? Knockhill have it as a test day for cars and bikes

Legends have a day to themselves on Wed 31st March when March goes out like a Lion so could be a wash out! or worse Gales would prevent me getting of Island.
Don't expect too many Legends out on 7th although if I were closer I would chance it as the weather looks like being better for this weekend. Ali.

Don't worry, KF, marshals' training is mostly conducted indoors with perhaps a bit of fire training outdoors. Be warned.... don't leave your car anywhere near the clubhouse as we may use it for training on.... ha ha!
I am sure we won't be going near the track especially if there is a test day on the go but am sure some of us will amble about afterwards to have an ogle at some of the cars. Bit like we do on race days... lol!
Have a good day all who turn up!
Regards David

Assuming the rebuilt engine starts (!!) I'll be there on Sunday, though may just be running in.

Heard that Coram were planning to have their LMP car up and running at the test session. Have no idea what they are up to these days since they decided to build only bespoke cars rather than kits. Wonder if they've managed to get it Radical fast yet...?

Just got back from the test (decided to leave early, as we're heading up to the Highlands tonight to visit my parents), and it was great seeing cars out on track again! Not a huge number of them out, but we didn't really expect a lot; there were still about a dozen cars in total, though, and something of (almost) everything. Taylor Motorsport was out in force, with all three of their drivers, plus there was a fourth Formula Ford, being the red #9 car, which I think was run by George Smith last year. Not sure who was driving it this year, but it looked a little faster than Smith usually drove, so either he's found some speed over the winter, or someone else was having a go. There were also four Xr2s out on track, with John Swift trying out a new silver-painted car, and someone else (no idea who, didn't look familiar) running what looked like the car Swift had last year. Jonathan Adam seems to have bought the white/red/blue #50 car which has Toby Hicks' name on the side, and was thrashing it round the track (from the sounds of protest the car was making, I don't know if it will have survived to the end of the day! ), I guess to get some practice at tin-tops before moving onto the Clios, and finally someone we didn't recognise was driving a totally anonymous white XR2. All we could work out about that one was that whoever was in it must've been racing before, as they were taking the right line through McIntyre, and didn't look at all hesitant about it - if anyone's got any more info, we'd be interested to know! Beyond that, there was a Caterham (former Ecurie Ecosse machine), the Coram (looked like Jonathan Young was driving it, if I read the name on his overalls correctly), the Sarafilovic #99 Crossle (no idea who was driving it, but I guess one of the Sarafilovic's would be a fair guess), the LM3000 (again, probably a Sarafilovic driving), and the red Pro Motorsport Sierra (haven't a clue who was driving that). And that was about it! Saw Charlie around the paddock, and dagman16 recognised us and said hi (sorry for the blank look I must've given you at the time - it often takes me a little while to work out who anyone is when I first meet them! ) - beyond that, we didn't notice anyone else from here, but it was still good to get back into the atmosphere, and see the cars out on track. Roll on April 11th

It was me driving the white xr2 (Marc Baynham). I raced the double header meeting last october, you may remember that the car was a horrible green colour but we have had it repaired and painted a nice white with pearl blue unfortunatly we did not have enough time to have the decals put on before the test but hopefully the next time the car runs it should be decaled. I should also be getting some driving tuition before the start of the season as i have never raced Karts or any other forms of cars before. Can you re-iterate what you said about my lines through mcintyres, i don't quite understand what you mean. You may also have noticed i was having problems with the car stutering under power, we are presently working on that problem!!!! Ah yes, I remember you now; glad you'll be back out again As for the lines, I just meant that they looked pretty good, so I could tell you were a driver who had raced before - a total rookie would probably have been less committed, or else would have overcommitted and run wide at some point, but when I saw you you seemed pretty consistent
