Pure rumour at the moment, but I heard a snippit of gossip that the XR2's may end up having an away round at Croft late in the year. Anyone able to confirm this?

morning DC
was going to post this today..
I got a phone call from Chris E last night saying a double header has been arranged at Croft on 25th and 26th of September. All other dates still as previously advised.
XR2 Championship now therefore over 12 rounds.
Would like to take some of the credit for the away round given the feedback I got from drivers over the course of last year, but I can't. It was all down to the SMRC so lets give them some praise, they get enough stick.

Great news!:up: Now if only the Legends were heading there on the same day, instead of in June or whenever, then myself and KF would be heading down for sure... anyone know what else will be out that weekend? Only thing I've tracked down so far is the Northern Saloons/Sportscars - not bad, but two series doesn't make a big day out

That's excellent news - won't be too far for me to travel!!! Excellent work by the SMRC is this comes off. One point though - if the SMRC has put the work in to get this away round sorted out, I will not be happy if we don't have a full grid considering almost all the drivers canvassed by John last year wanted an away round.... Delighted to hear that this rumour has some substance!
Only problem for me is whether or not I'll be out in an XR2 this year at all. All depends upon what sponsorship Colin and I can drum up for the MG campaign, as this is going to be very expensive ...
Still haven't decided whether to sell my car or not, but it may have to go unless a major sponsor is found ....
