I've just seen what's supposed to be the SMRC race schedule for the XR2's. WE ONLY GET 5 RACE MEETINGS, ALL AT KNOCKHILL ( one of which is a double header ). We are not being invited to any other meetings. I think the legends are in the same boat. The away days are all going to the Mini's and Caterhams. Don't know if I'll bother. P.S. Looked at the SMRC website and they only list the 1st and 2nd XR2 championship places, we've even been cut back there.

Only five??!! It looked like six on the Knockhill calendar, and that was pretty rubbish, IMHO. The SMRC had better sort that out fast, or they'll find the numbers dropping very quickly

That make sorry reading Charlie although Legends appear to be better off than XR2's.
Provisionally we have 11 & 25 April, 27 June, 11 July, 14/15 August, 12th September and finally 17 October. We also only have one Double Header and thats August.
Lead to believe we have invite to F3 15/16 May
Away meetings are to be Anglesey in late May/early June or early August. Oulton Park sometime with Corgi National Legends and Croft want us there, SMRC suppose to be organising that one.
Charlie is this lack of support by SMRC correct? JFin was going to the Committee meeting to voice drivers concerns and try for more support, surely they can't be daft enough to give less? Ali

hi Racemania
spoke to chris edwards last night at smrc dinner dance in edinburgh, ( another excuse for grown men to wear skirts )
Apparantly proving very difficult to get away rounds confirmed at the moment with brands hatch leisure under negotiation for purchase which is causing alot of meeting to delay descisions on who races, also the circuits down south appear to be putting up costs massivly to clubs for events so they are all vying for more classes on fewer days .
hopefully sorted soon so we can get you down from the northern hemisphere and show the english what we can do
cheers

I could maybe understand the cutbacks for making the championship more financially accessible, but only five meetings with no away trips might just be taking that too far, and could unintentionally conspire to hurt it. Confusing.

(GR here - in the middle of the house move now, so I'm having to use KF's computer plus good ole' dial-up access ) According to Nick on his forum, there's actually seven dates listed now, and one will probably be a double-header. Still no away dates, but continuing at the same level as before isn't so bad, IMHO... if those dates are accurate, then I'm fairly happy with them.
