Well, I am starting this thread early, but we are (queue the cheesy 80s tune) final countdown. But this time we are not heading for venus. we are heading for knockhill. I understand that this is a big race in the legends, Carol Brown V Ross Marshall. I apologise for not knowing where everyone else is at.
been an interesting season and the weather has been really kind to us. Been interesting marshalling this year, and the usual thoughts will go through my head during the rugby, i mean close season, If i will keep marshalling next year. we all do :-) So have a great weekend and dont forget to wave at / hug your marshall - ok maybe not hug in gravel traps big hugs to all Karen xxxx

Not going to be racing but I have been asked to drive the safety car. Here's hoping it stays dry!

you will probably do more laps than most drivers malc just dont do an edwards when leading the legends round... the OA know what "doing an edwards' means)

I too know that hence wanting it to be dry to minimise my chances lol

It's a Seat Leon with more drivers aids than I can think on acronyms for...you have to get it very very wrong to fall off the black stuff, though you can still get it sideways down Duffus in the wet ;D

All very quiet round here - any comments on the day's racing for those of us who couldn't make it? Or on the final championship results? I gathered from Knockhill's blog that Ken Thirlwall's broken all kinds of records by winning every FFord race this year, so not much doubt over that championship, but were any of the others rather closer things? Also, anyone know when it's all likely to be on Motors? I seem to have found a *cough*unofficial*cough* way of viewing it, which I'm hoping will last long enough for me to see the final rounds

Catriona Apologies for not responding sooner Seems like we're mostly gravitating to facebook these days A shame in many ways. I'll summarise what I know for sure in terms of the weekend ... I managed a win and a 3rd to sneak 2nd place in the XR's from Peter Cruickshank and Wayne in 3rd and 4th respectively. Russell obviously won it (and won the last race, despite a lot of pressure from Wayne). David Sleigh got the Mini cup and Tim got Mini Newcomers Cup, I believe. Ross Marshall had a couple of wins and won the Legends. Thats all I know .. sorry DC

Thanks for the updates The downside to Facebook for me is that unless you have the right contacts you don't get most of the stories - and I for one feel uncomfortable adding people I don't really know (while I know who they are, they probably have no idea who the heck I am!). I imagine folk new to the club racing scene would feel much the same way, so the forum works better on that front for including everyone, IMO. Can understand why facebook works well in other ways though so it's not too surprising more has gone that way! Hope there's a few away rounds at tracks I can reach next year so I can catch up a bit, Cadwell again would be great for a start, love that place - it's the only track I've been to down here that comes close to Knockhill for the friendly feeling

Catriona Totally get your point, and its very valid, so hopefully "the board" will continue to serve a useful purpose for some time to come. Hope we do Cadwell again too!! Has the same feel to the circuit too, challenging! Cheers .. DC
