Regular readers of this forum will be saddened to hear of the death of Richard on Tuesday (due to a brain tumour). There is an announcement in today's Scotsman and the funeral is on Wednesday. We used to have regular banter with Richard and his dad, Bill at the dinner dances and his larger than life character will be sadly missed with his ravings on here! Am sure our thoughts go out to his family and his fiancee, Tanya at this time.

Oh dear, I thought we hadn't heard from him in a while, had hoped that he wasn't ill, as I remember he'd mentioned the tumour before. Sympathy to his family and friends.

Very sad to hear. His posts were always entertaining but obviously had a great love of motorsport.

Very sorry to hear this. Had a long chat with him about vehicle design at one of the dinner dances and he was a very knowledgeable young man.
Condolences to his family and his fiancee.

Sad news indeed.
It's always a shame when someone is taken so young.

Very sad news although not unexpected.
Condolences to Bill, Tanya and the rest of the family.
Richard contacted me a number of years ago via this very site. He had worked out who I was and knew all about my attempts at race car design. His love of cars, their design and racing knew no bounds and I was delighted when he turned up at my workshop with some styling ideas for one of my projects. Sadly, due to my lack of skill, turning his wonderful ideas into reality was beyond me but he did a grand job and I loved his sketches. His passing will be a great loss.

Very sad to hear this news. A big personality in Scottish motor racing lost and far too early. Sadly I never had the chance to meet him in person, I'm sure the conversation would have been very engaging.
My condolences to his family, fiance and friends.

Very sad to hear this news, and I pass my condolences to all who knew him.
I always enjoyed reading his views and opinions on things on here, even if I didn't agree with him on a lot he said.

As other have said, my condolences to his family, fiance and friends.
I didn't know him, but did have a brief chat with him while having a good nose at his Imp one cold afternoon at KH.

Thank you for all your kind words. I have mixed emotions about this, my Fiancé Richard Heinicke-Carr applied for a Job with Team Lotus, who i'm sure you guys know they have bought Caterham company. He applied before he got ill and sent his designs to them, they accepted him in, but he got too ill with a brain tumour. Well i've just seen the new car SP/300.R they have made and it looks just like Richard's design, but he hasnt been given any credit. Even the write up sounds like what he put in his graduation booklet about his research. I can't find any original drawings online of this car and i'm assuming it's because they have used Richard's design and can't show where they got it from. I'm sure he would have been very proud that they used his design, and have hardly changed it though. i would put picks of his design up but not sure if you can.
