Bit of a long shot this but does anyone have a windscreen for an XR2? Doesn't have to be in prisitine condition; just better than the one I have at present (massive crack on the passenger side).
Now most of us wouldn't be scared of a massive crack (steady boys!) but the scrutineers are starting to get on my back.
Do scrappies still sell windscreens?

Mike, you might struggle to get one from a scrappies, when I had mine I got a new one for about £80 fitted, biggest hassle they had was getting the rubber seals.

for info - chris p had a new one fitted prior to last race and he got 2 for £45 (not including the fitting) from one of the major windscreen companies (think it was National Windscreens). Suspect you may be right about the seals though (very rare - must be all the clubbing..)

So, should we rename the thread "Wanted -XR2 Windscreen rubbers"? ;D

You should be able to re-use the rubber. Might not be a perfect seal but who has an XR2 that's watertight anyway?
Sorry don't have any screen's myself, though could do a roaring trade in rear side windows, particularly if your name is "Holmes". Phone round the local scrappies, I'm sure you'll find a Mk2 fiesta somewhere. There were a couple in Paisley last time I was looking for bits, though strangely none had driver's doors.

hi baz - no joy with the normal suppliers (Autoglass etc)? Don't have Chris Philip's number otherwise would check where he got his. I'm also looking at the mo so will post if I find a reasonably priced source.

Autoglass etc., no thanks. Most wouldn't supply but would only fit and I'm not paying over £100 for someone to come and do something I can do in ten minutes. One even refused to quote me without a registration number! The concept of make/model/year has long gone in some places.
Anyway, yes I found one for around £40. I've left the details in work but will post them up when I find them again. Maybe still dearer than a scrappie, but then MK2 Fiesta's aren't exactly common place.

Just been quoted £37.60 inc VAT from National Windscreens. Collect and fit yourself price. Don't think that is too bad as last scrappy windscreen I saw was £25 (and that was a while ago...)

Mine is on order - due next week. Asked for cheapest one possible so no fancy top-tint etc. I'll let you know if it arrives as promised!

Picked up the screen today - seems ok - no tints etc, just the mirror positioning pad. The guy did say I'd got a good deal so might have got lucky on price.
