Surprised no one has commented yet but would like to congratulate both the Legends and Formula Ford drivers on putting on some great races over the weekend. Hopefully you will all be invited back in 2010.

I agree Blair although I still think a wet XR2 race would have been more "spectacular"... However - it's a pity that given the cost and effort that both FF and Legends went to in filling the holes left in the programme by the absence of the Clios and Formula Renault that they had no live TV time at all. That would have been a brilliant piece of PR!

I understand the Legends would have had to pay a significant amount to get on the tv, assume the same applied to FFord. A real shame as the racing from both was brilliant - hopefully those of the crowd who stayed to watch appreciated it! Always glad to see some Scottish series get a shot on the big meetings, hopefully they'll be invited back next year

The Legends guys did put on a great show and from what I heard the Formula Fords were really good also, curse the traffic jam that meant when Id parked the FF race had just finished. Much better than the G50 races thats for sure as they were as good as watching paint dry at times lol
Was mighty tempted to ask the people leaving after the btcc race why they wouldnt stay to watch the legends plus it meant you missed the inevitable mass rush to get out lol.

martin, i was saying that to the fans at mcintyres, hang about and watch one of the best races of the weekend as you will only be sitting in a q to get out. quite a few put their chairs back down
the legends were a credit to the smrc they put on a fantastic show on both days as did the f-fords. big respect to aly hunter and graham brunton for having such big fields and to whoever persuaded alan gow to have them on the bill

Cheers for all the FFord comments guys. Was an awesome weekend to be part of,much more work behind the scenes than I would have believed but dealing with TOCA was really quite straightforward.Alan Hyde, roving commentator was mega helpful, organizing the use of the TOCA podium and our own Jonny Adam needed no persuasion in presenting our trophies as he started his career in Scottish FFord. Both races were really tight with mega close racing and no contact which is just what we want. The two club members I had contact with over the weekend were Walter Robertson and Mike How and I thought they both went out of there way to help on a few things.Special mention for Andrew Chesher who wrecked his car on Sat.We got Cameron The Fabricator who cut a section from Andrews trailer to repair the chassis! While Andrew went home and removed a gearbox from another car.I ran out of steam at midnight but his family and friends worked all night and literally finished in time for driving straight to the holding area, massive effort and a credit to finish 11th

I agree with Graham there, the FF races were very good and had a good reception from the crowds at the chicane. Great to see the local hotshots at the sharp end and Scotty end his run of bad luck with a couple of podiums!
I must thank Knockhill, in particular Ian Forrest, who came to the rescue on Sunday when Helen's Marshal Recruitment gazebo, last seen on Saturday night at the hairpin met its demise overnight in the hurricane and what was still there was sadly beyond repair! Ian got us the use of the scrutineers' building. Cheers, guys, it was worth it... almost 70 names taken I believe!
