yeah gillian that is the one i have and it picks up well, only thing is that if you are at mcintyres you wont get all the posts, from memory I didnt get 9 or 10 and only partial from 6. at clarks i managed to get all the posts, must be the hill in the middle in the way but you do get everything from race control. the plug input is for charging, personally i just use batteries from the pound shop, 2 batteries gets you a day and a bit. you also need an earpiece
think most of us use that scanner

As Alan has said Gillian that is a comon model amongst the marshals except me I like to be different it is perfect for Knockhill and is small enough to fit in the pocket of the probans and has good battery life but the frequency does not go low enough if he was to marshal rallies. Even my scanner that cost twice as much as that model doesn't get all posts from mcintyres but has no problem with getting race controll. Have you thought about a zimmer frame for when pushing a legend so he doesn't fall again, sorry had to get that in .as for an earpiese I personaly use an in the ear type but another is the D shape earpiece preferably not the rubber type.

Thanks guys, think i'll get that one then along with a new pair of jeans after his roll about on Friday night........
It's not just legends he has to watch out for, silly man was falling over the tyre wall and all sorts this weekend, he's got bruises and scrapes all over.
Oh, and he's like a dog with fleas with midge bites too.

think my re-chargeable batteries are shot as i only get a day, they are 6 years old lol
you will always get race control as I imagine they have a more powerful transmitter plus they are a lot higher up than the rest of us

Hey Flagmonkey, we enjoy having our little dual at post 2 & 3 Personaly I think I won at the weekend on Post 2, all 3 had were those tyres going awol. But how funny was the van upside down ;D See you all at the next one and I think I will request to observe from the main gate, less likely to get an incident there

Yes Stuart the battle between you and Mr W is close. I think he was still suffering from post traumatic stress from the number of incidents at Chicane during the 31 May meeting. Paul is on Copse for the grand prix this weekend so watch out for a first corner pile up or three. Aland - are you sure that you have powersave enabled? When I first got the scanner it was a bit hungrier with battery life but activating power saving mode did realise quite an improvement. See page 15 of this link www.radios-uk.com/ccount/click.php?id=46I think that righting of vans needs to be considered for the next training day. Thanks goodness we don't have truck racing at Knockhill....

cheers derek will have a look at that
i dont think any of our observers can be blamed, the main culprits are ian and colin from power images, if they are about it kicks off. i know they are sound blokes but i am convinced they eat too many pork pies. they stayed clear of clarks and we had next to nothing to do lol
