Hi folks,
Fancy being in the race cars you watch at the weekend...
This weekend is the Scottish Motor Show at Knockhill and in my quest to support Teenage Cancer Trust there will be passenger rides round the circuit in some race cars, a rare occurence! It's £10 for three laps, and all proceeds will be going to this worthy cause. The runs will be at lunch time and the end of the day on both Saturday and Sunday, and the cars will be some Mini's, some Fiesta's, and some classic and sports cars.
My sincerest thanks are due to Knockhill for allowing us the track time to do this, and to those drivers who are bringing and running their cars - without whom this would have been nothing more than an idea.
Hope to see some of you at the weekend
Barry

Does anyone know if the passenger rides are restricted to Adults ? Guessing insurance/safety will be a factor.

Hi,
David, do pop round, would be good to see you
Rich, check your e-mail
Linz, no. Minimum age is 12 and there's a height restriction. The easiest rule is if a child needs a booster seat for the road then unfortunately they can't take part for safety reasons.
Cheers Barry

Despite the awful weather on Saturday and latterly on Sunday, we managed to squeeze a good few people into our cars and slither around the track. Conditions on Saturday were truly attrocious, with rivers of water running across the track, those of us in open top sports cars getting a drenching and those of us in XR2's left wondering where, through the misted up windscreen, the track went! Some lucky souls were in Mini's, dry and warm. Sunday started with blazing sunshine, and ended with rain...which came right on cue as we made our way to the holding paddock.
The good news is we made over £1000 throughout the weekend. Thanks to the drivers, their helpers, the volunteers from TCT and Knockhill for making this possible.
