Oh also just a mention for Stewart Scott. He was on fire in the second XR2 race. Going really well and leaving the other ST's behind until he slid off the road at Clarks. But the reds came out and it got counted back a lap so he was first ST again, jammy! Both S&S races were great.

Interesting start to the season. Didn't get any practice on Satuday, so was relieved to be 4th on the grid. Got a cracking start in race 1 start 1 and safely up to 3rd. Got an even better start in race 1 start 2. Up to 2nd. Found my way past Peter the long way round Duffus, but Peter made a long range lunge at the hairpin 2nd last lap and I didn't have his straigh line speed to counter on the main straight. 2nd race was going very well until the last lap, when the engine died going into Duffus with the inevitable resultant spin. Got going again and salvaged a few points with 7th, but a tad frustrating as I was sure I had the speed to challenge Peter on the last lap, although I won't say where . Overall, not a bad day, but we need to figure out the mystery engine issue for Croft .... DC

Id rather see the airborne Evo! I was standing down at Scotsmans and heard the bang as it hit the airfencing and it sounded a real bad one - it even looked like he hit it - bounced off and rolled but dont think he did. Was incredible he then drove away with just a couple of broken windows. we were the same Dave but being on the spot next to the flag poingt at mcintyres we only heard it. was lucky thanks to dunc here is footage of the mini that had a roll www.youtube.com/watch?v=zdBIuMhtSXY

XR2 Car 26 - crap qualifying- my fault as went for it on lap 2 when should have let tyres warm up one more lap. Result was 21 on grid for race 1 - got past a few before the bridge. After plenty swerving around debris and spinning XR2s, finished 15th XR2. Race 2 was a different ball-game! Car very twitchy on wet track with cold tyres so no surprise when red flag came out. Good (re)-start and was hoping to get a better result when I got STD (ST Damage)! Hit hard in rear quarter while mid-bend which spun me in time to get whacked across front by same ST! Bonnet broke loose and started tap-dancing on windscreen but wouldn't detach totally. Chose to park and try to free it as didn't fancy sharing car with it. Race finished before marshalls could cut it free. Result - 1 race licence signature -1 new bonnet, wing, front bumper, rear bumper on order. Good fun though!

Think I'm finally thawed out, the good ol' Knockhill breeze seemed even worse than usual yesterday! Great day;s racing, albeit a touch chaotic at times, I was beginning to wonder just how many more cars would come flying off the road in front of me at McIntyre/Butchers! Really hope somebody caught that pace car "moment" on video, I saw it from away over at the other side of the circuit, looked a perfect 360 spin Uploaded a heap of videos myself to www.youtube.com/scottishclubracing - not much exciting in most, but both starts of the first Fiestas race had people going off in front of me, including a certain Mr Murdoch exiting the shot backwards on the first start

Good videos Catriona. Looks like you chose the right spot. Just quickly uploaded mine. www.youtube.com/watch?v=aiDQqyyCUEE I made a good start (IMO - some others maybe want to offer their view if it was a good start from me or a bad start from the others round me), then on looking at it again I was too fast into Duffus, no throttle through the corner which let the back end go.., then I seen the blue car spinning. I think it was pure luck (no skill involved!) that made me go the gravel route and avoid the other cars.

You looked steady Martin but good for your first race. Kept it on the black stuff and no damage. Sure the speed will come.

Very quick hands through duffus! How stiffly sprung is your car or how cold were your rear tyres that you lost it so easily through scotsman!?!? Or did you pick up a load of mud from your little off? Grass didnt look wet though. I had 1000lbs springs on rear of my xr2 and never had it let go so completely during such a gentle turn in and so little steering lock or did you come off the throttle but just cant hear it in the video? You were looking really good until then, few places off the line and then even more avoiding the spinner

Utterly rotten weekend, but fun none-the-less. Car was suffering from loss of power in both test sessions on Saturday, to the point where other XR's were driving past me as if I were standing still. Found some faults and fixed them, but another problem crept up in qualifying and I lost power with a misfire this time. 11th turned into 13th in race 1 as again the misfire returned. 13th on the grid in race 2 turned into 9th as reward for not throwing it off the track but the car is still not right. Had a bit of fun in both races when the car behaved itself, but lost out on 12th as it died coming out the hairpin on the last lap.
Still, gotta take the positives. The car handles well and is still in one peice, so something there to build on once the problems are sorted.
