Apropros of the current weather, who remembers this from April 2000...? I was starting to wonder if my ancient Nova was going to make it out of the carpark when the meeting was finally cancelled...

Although I'm in an XR2 these days; a Nova would trance the pants off an XR2 any day of the week. I miss my Nova...

Mike, I remember it well. I was commentating from the pitlane and of course, as long as the cars were on track, I had to be out there accumulating an increasingly deep covering of snow. As far as I remember the day started sunny then we had rain then we had the snow. 4 seasons in one day!

I also remember this well - it was 1st April 2000 - the meeting was cancelled and we re-ran the etra races on the 30th April 2000 meeting. This was the XR2 qualification race - remember them?!!! - I was in 2nd place behind Mark Foster who was leading. That's Charlie Thornton in the first picture - he had a similar paint scheme to me (he copy mine)!!! ;D Nick www.nicksandersonracing.com

Hehe - I remember this very well. Think the meeting was cancelled primarily because the flag marshals couldn't see the next post(s)!!

Hehe - I remember this very well. Think the meeting was cancelled primarily because the flag marshals couldn't see the next post(s)!! That happened in 02 or 03 too, last race of the season, it was about 5 pm when we, the s+s on our 2nd green flag lap for our second race, the fog came down and the marshals couldn't see the next post, so the meeting was cancelled, all the pent up adrenaline had no where to go and it was a tough 360 miles back to uni that night, until someone cut me up in Cheshire or somewhere, then red mist came down.

Yes - I remember the April 2000 XR2 blizzard race - I was in that one - bright green no 24.
Also recall thinking "What the hell am I doing this for? - it's supposed to be fun!"
Fortunately red-flagged shortly after.
