Spotted this on the SMRC site - hope they don't mind me posting it here - perhaps there are some drivers who'd be up for this ?
Urgent: Marshals' Fun Day - Drivers Required! Every year the SMRC organises a half day of events to thank the marshals for their help during the season. The Fun Day includes circuit rides from drivers with racing cars which have a passenger seat, belts and the drivers have a minimum National B racing licence. Unfortunately there have been a number of last minute cancelations due to damage/ rebuilds. The club is therefore looking for additional drivers to help out by bringing their car along and give the marshals circuit rides.
Approximately seven more cars are required, particularly from saloons, sports etc. Sign on is 8.15 at the circuit office for a 9 o'clock start on Saturday 22nd November. The circuit rides are expected to finish at 12pm. Cost? Just your fuel but consider this 3 hours free testing and a chance to say thank you to the marshals. If you can help please phone Andy Fenwick on 01577 830 162 so that he can organise accordingly.

Hi FormulaHotLaps AKA Graham Brunton Racing have recently taken delivery of a brand new full size F1 Simulator. Would like to offer this for the Marshalls to have a go. It will be in our workshop and can be set up with a Grand Prix circuit of your choice or you could have your choice of F1 cars round Knockhill! Jonathan Adam SEAT champion recently had some valuable practice at Brands in a BMW Touring Car before testing the BTCC BMW. Only condition is Boots Off! So bring some light trainers. FF1600 racer Craig Brunton will be on hand to facilitate on the day. Sorry I cant be there but have a good day! Graham

Well, as predicted, the snow did curtail activities at the Fun Day but all was not lost! Sadly, we couldn't use the track due to a snow-covering but thanks to Olly Ross and Chris Knox for bringing their cars up anyway! The F1 simulator was excellent... I can now say I have driven an F1 car round Knockhill, at times actually on the track...! Big thanks to the Knockhill folk for sweeping the snow off the kart track then de-icing it.... we got our 100 lap race and I was lucky enough to get on the podium thanks to my rapid team-mates and despite some mechanical gremlins!! The skid pan was VERY skiddy! And my team were the biggest improvers at the Pit Stop Challenge... not hard when we needed a calendar to time the first attempt....!!!
Thanks to all for a bloody freezing but fun day!!
