Once you get your licence how long does it last for?
Do you have to apply for a new one each year at £49??

it expires 31st december every year. So you have to renew it for £49 at the start of the next year.

Or from the 1st December on line at the MSA website providing you don't need a medical.

I've just renewed and am expecting my new licence anytime soon. Thought I'd get in before the rush!

They're crafty buggers at the MSA though! I got my 1st ever racing licence approved by the MSA last Thursday, but it wouldn't have reached me in time if they'd sent it by post, as I needed it to race Nick Sanderson's ST at Anglesey on the Sunday. The MSA said they could fax the circuit to tell them I had a licence and was OK to race. So I phoned the MSA and said that if I didn't physically need my licence for this meeting, could they please send me a 2008 licence?. No, was the answer. So I've had to pay for a 2007 licence (valid for 4 weeks - the remainder of the year) and i'll have to pay again to renew my licence for 2008.

In effect I was the same, I sat my ARDS in May but it only got used for 1 meeting. Suppose thats the fun of motorsport, always opening your wallet !
I got my 2008 licence through today, nice goldy colour. Question for you all - the upgrade card - I have 2 signatures on the 2007 one - can I continue to bring it to sign on at 2008 meetings or do I need to start using the 2008 form ?

as to the up grade question and signatures, you have to use the 2008 licence for signatures in 2008 , but when you upgrade you send both 2007 and 2008 licences to msa with the correct number of signatures between the both of them. yours couperacer
