It was also cool to see the Westfield XTR2 as well. Neat little motor. It looked very new though. I'm sure when it gets sorted a bit more it'll give the Radicals a bit of a run for their money. Yeah, think that came up with the Northern boys last year as well - it certainly looks pretty professional. And while I remember, it was good to see the LM3000 back again after all this time - shame it didn't run though!

Before I give you a quick run-down, Ian Forrest is officially one of the biggest wind-up merchants I've ever met so I'd take anything he said with a pich of salt. Certainly that would fit his character. It was probably ill-advised to say something like that on a public broadcast though as it's been taken the wrong way by a few people here and presumably by many others who don't know what he can be like... bad PR I think

I turned in tight to avoid Neil taking the inside line and then CRUNCH, Ross had mistimed / locked up ? under braking It didn't look like there was much in the way of braking going on there at all tbh... It was a pretty large rookie error - it's just a shame you were the innocent victim while he got away with seemingly very little damage.

We probably walked by one another a dozen times... We'll have to meet up sometime. Hehe, yeah - bet there's a few people from these forums that I've wandered past but not known who they were at the time! Never met Speedy or TL yet, either, and not managed to guess which of the guys in orange is Dave B so far... We should all work out some method of identification so we actually know each other when we pass Yeah. Not half! I love the way Tim Bartlett's Porsche starts flaming on the overrun once its exhaust has had a chance to warm up. Yeah, I love that Porsche! Was standing on the start-finish straight in the S&S race yesterday, and it looked absolutely fantastic when it was changing gear... sadly it was only after my camera had run out of film that I discovered a place where I could stand right opposite one of its gearchange points - would make a great picture to have that side-on with the flames coming out of the exhausts Next time...

Passed your awning a couple of times Gary but I think our timing was a bit off - you were either in the team bus or under your car Besides we usually get a bit self conscious about barging our way into drivers who look busy, we're still mere civilians after all!

Mmm... a nice relaxig Sunday that was... NOT! Had a great race with Ian with Ross mixing it a bit, had some very close racing with Ian, at the hairpin Ross got an overlap roughly his front wheel next to my rear so I was going to take the long way round Hairpin Ian's about a car or two or so length in front of me I stand on the brakes as late as possible and Ross just flew past, I was gobsmaked and Ian was well smacked! Lifted car up onto two wheels and made a right mess of it, (sitting here typing this and can see sorry mess through the window) need new wing, door and some sill straightening hopefully that'll be it. Hope to be sorted for June since I'll be out in that one (cos it's faster ) My cars' exhaust started blowing badly and front brakes developed a big problem that showed itself at mcintyres a couple of times, but it was a finish for both of us and thats just cool, dings aside, oh Ross had a video in the car so we're hoping to see ourselves in action soon, complete with crunch. Thing that p***ed me off most was getting lapped, hate it when that happens

Mere civillain's well we are all them !. just some are luckier than other's well thats what i think anyway. (but then i own a LEGENDS racecar so i would say that) ;D as for passing the bus and not stopping because i look busy well i am never too busy to stop and chat (even if i am having a heated talk about race setup/tactics as we racers do with our dads/Mechanics .) anyway i was at the hairpin for the second Mini race and "you just walked on by "( is that a song cause it sounds like it). mind you i had a blank look on my face by the time they where finished .( mind you as all i know they could still be r acing to the flag as we type) Question - is the legends as exciting too watch as the mini's there seems to be to much of "they are drivers" and you can't talk to them. i like to chat to the spectators/fans and i don't mind letting them see the inside of my car either when they ask. not like some drivers i know (even legends are guilty sometimes). but most forget the [glow=red,2,300]them's[/glow] of this world are US too. speak to you 2 at the next meeting and remember stop and chat you may get free tea if the kettle is on.

Thought it'd be an idea to rename this thread - sorry Dave, but it makes sense to make the meeting review thread more obvious, plus if either of the Forrests visits this site any time, I suspect they wouldn't have particularly liked the original title... I probably should've moderated that one sooner, tbh Sorry Gary - never even saw you at the hairpin for that race.... I'm pretty hopeless at recognising people, though, so I guess I was bound to miss someone sometime I don't think it's so much feeling we can't talk to drivers, as more not wanting to get in the way - I know there's a huge difference between the club drivers and the drivers at higher levels as far as being able to just stop for a chat goes, as one of the things I love best about the club racing is how friendly everyone is Still don't want to get in the way, though, as I know time can be a bit short in between races, so it seems pretty cheeky/arrogant to go up to someone who's clearly busy with their car, and expect their attention, really... I find it much better to just come back later and see if they're not so busy

Mere civillain's well we are all them ! Well yeah, but some of us are "mere-er" than others! just some are luckier than other's well thats what i think anyway. (but then i own a LEGENDS racecar so i would say that) . That makes you more of a god than a civillian in our eyes  anyway i was at the hairpin for the second Mini race and "you just walked on by "( is that a song cause it sounds like it). . Really? Dammit - missed you, but then at times we were in such a hurry to get back to the car (parked beside the donut stall!) to warm up that we may have wandered past without seeing you... besides which it was really busy at that side of the hairpin on Sunday - dunno where the crowds are coming from at the moment!! Question - is the legends as exciting too watch as the mini's In triplicate The minis have promise but that's about it at the moment - the Legends rock! ;D there seems to be to much of "they are drivers" and you can't talk to them. i like to chat to the spectators/fans and i don't mind letting them see the inside of my car either when they ask. not like some drivers i know (even legends are guilty sometimes). but most forget the [glow=red,2,300]them's[/glow] of this world are US too. I want to sit in your car then! ;D Seriously speaking although most of the drivers and so on at the SMRC are very approachable people a lot of the time, there are a few that you can guess pretty easily don't seem to be the friendliest of guys (naming no names!) to be bothering plus of course certain other guys are clearly very busy (I can't count the number of times I've almost been bowled over by Ally Hunter near the Legends garageover the past 4 seasons or so - he's always rushing around!) so you do have to think twice before doing the "I'm a racing fan, give me attention" thing. Anyway, are you going to be running at the F3/GTs seeing as Legends are on the bill? We'll wander over if you are anyway, in between trying to see Nelson Piquet!

Argh, just realised most the post titles didn't update along with the thread title... looks like I have a lot of editing to do, then! I'm only editing the post titles, not anything else, guys, so don't worry about me changing any content of your posts - I believe in keeping censorship to a minimum, and only use it if I think offence may be caused by anything Edit: Phew, finally done... wish this forum didn't insist on saving each post title separately to the thread title Looks pretty bad now, with so many edits... my fault for not doing anything sooner, but even so, as soon as I find the money/time/knowledge to set up a vBulletin-type forum (assuming this one stays as popular as it currently is), I will do - they look rather easier to moderate, from my experience on other boards using that software Good thing moderation isn't needed much here

RR - Legends were great on Sunday - I managed to watch a couple of your races in between panicking about being on the front row of the grid! We're jealous that we are not racing at the GT/F3 meeting but I'll be there anyway to watch the racing. Cheers, Nick. www.ns-r.co.uk
