I have not been a big fan of Jenson Button up until now, so was surprised how happy I found myself for him that he finally broke his duck in Hungary. Despite the strange podium, it did seem like a fair win given that he outpaced both Alonso and Schumacher and was consistently fast throughout the different phases of the race.
Not sure if the total lack of comment on this forum so far about this is a reflection of general apathy towards F1, or specifically towards Button?
Have to confess that it is quite a while since I watched a whole grand prix.

I'm certainly not apathetic towards F1; I was thrilled that Jenson won on Sunday - I just didn't think to start a thread on here about it! With any luck Jenson can now go on and win more races (and maybe a championship or two??!). I think both Honda drivers are feeling pretty confident just now - Rubens is now talking about HIS race win coming soon! I also thought Anthony Davidson did a fine job in the commentary box, although I'd much rather see him out racing on a Sunday afternoon

F1 apathy - I've watched it for so long that whilst I usually do put the race on, I usually lose interest after about 5-10 laps given that it's just so dull most of the time these days. It doesn't help that I just don't care who wins anymore. That said, the race on Sunday did grip me, just because of the wet/dry race conditions that made Nurburgring 1999 and Brazil 2003 equally exciting.
I'm not a Button fan, his tantrum antics with regards to who he was going to be driving for at the end of last season made me dislike him even more, but I don't begrudge both he and Honda a race win, after all he was almost the only driver to make no mistakes during the race - it's nice to see someone (driver and team) different winning, even though I personally would have preferred De La Rosa to win - now THAT would have been a major upset.

Also F1 apathy, I loved it 10 years ago but for the last 3-4 years I've barely cared, sadly. I'm glad to have seen Button win that race and I think he deserved it, but although the tv was on I wasn't actually paying that much attention to it so dont really know much about the race itself. About time he got a win considering all the hype about him; I just hope he can carry it on and win more as it's nice to have somebody different up there!
