Bit of help needed on what the regs are.
The SMRC site doesnt have the regulations for the Mini's up on it at the moment but I've had a look through the safety regs for the Sports & Saloons I had saved and I believe they are the same.
The sections of the blue book quoted make no reference to the seat requiring FIA certification or to be in date. Is this correct?
I have in date harnesses but the seat is not in date. Someone pointed out to me that FIA in date may not be a requirement.
[Figured it was worth checking before I go and spunk a wad of cash on a new seat!]

I had the same concerns after buying my car a little while ago. Somewhere in this forum there is a fairly recent thread outlining the situation. As I remember it, although harnesses, helmets, suits etc need to be "in date", for general club racing the seat does not. Although it will have to be in a fit state as far as scrutineering, the date won't be an issue.

Cheers, just found it on the search.
- Harnesses need to be in date - Seat doesnt but needs to pass scruitineering - Extinguisher should be serviced but doesnt need to be in date
