What options are there in the UK for 24 hour racing all I can find is the 2CV 24h race, the fun cup race over at Spa and the britcar race at Silverstone, is this the only options? The reason I ask is I was watching Top Gear last night and they done the Britcar race and it looked great fun and I quite fancy a go myself but looking into the costs its OTT by the time you buy a car and then the costs of the race itself, the funcup is much the same looks great but huge costs and that leaves the 2cvs my old man raced these when the championship was running in Scotland and they are slow very very slow and although the cost of running in the 24h race is very affordable 24hours in a 2CV? Anyone know of any others?

Le Mans, Nurburg, Spa all of which you need £10k at least for a decent driver.
We did Mondello 24 hrs 3 times, twice with our own car and the 1st time was a hire drive. We signed Allan McNish to drive our own car for charity, it was pre-Le Mans entry, we signed him up at the SMRC Dance in 96. He pulled out in the March when he phoned the house and asked for me, Mum got woken up by it and was a little suprised he was phoning, I was at school. He was in Austria signing a contract that day so he had to pull out. We found out it was Roock Racing in a Porsche 911 GT1, that car only lasted an hour at Le Mans, our 2cv lasted 24 hours. It is still a joke between us and Allan. In 98 he won with the Porsche factory team. I managed a car at the 24 hr Snetterton 2cv race a few years ago, it was great fun. I really have fun at those events, I wish I could do it every year.
Henry, you can buy a drive for around a grand.

Yeah but I could buy a car or build one for about 1.5k and when you devide the entry and fuel etc between 4 drivers then its pretty cheap for the amount of track time. Looks great fun might just give it a go this year. The 2cv my dad raced was eventually just given away after the 2cvs stopped in Scotland as no one wanted it wish he had kept it now. ;D

That 24 hour 2CV race looks like a real laugh - it's definitely the only option in enduros for clubbie drivers without big bucks behind them I imagine.

It isn't a laugh, it gets very serious. A certain Aussie race director getz very physical if you are in his way. There are a few guys who put their life and soul into 2cv racing. We've raced against pros before now, Le Mans drivers, we had an historic F2 racer drive for us and a Knight of the Realm too! The Stig has been known to race a 2cv, Hammster, the Rev and the Rasta too.
