There is the last major test day this coming Sunday 30th March at Knockhill.
Testing is from 9am-1pm and 1.30pm-5.30pm. morning costs 40 pounds, afternoon 50 pounds or all day 80 pounds.

There are two nice ferrari's sitting in the paddock just now with a full race truck!

Well what a scorcher of a day!  I can feel my face tonight beginning to burn up! That's a first for Knockhill in March!! I've got about 50 pics, so there should be some good uns in there somewhere, with any luck. Still learning who all the drivers are so it's a wee bit hard to kinda know whats going on sometimes..  the new Mini's were running all day basically, sharing sessions with every other group except the legends. They must've allocated certain drivers to go out in certain sessions. Met Nick, (thanks for the coffee!!) and we were discussing that the Mini's seem to be struggling for grip. A lot of understeer from what I saw of them. the XR2's at this moment are faster than the Mini's, hardly suprising though. Alan Keith's Mini looks tidy(as do them all), but as Nick said to me, if one of these things gets damaged it's going to cost a bob or two... They are really entertaining to watch, especially through the chcicane! Just watch out for the first Mini race of the season, there's bound to be carnage! Onto "our Charlie"... I've always thought Mr Thornton was a funny chap, he's even more hilarious in person! Did you manage to track down Alan Keith to 'ask' him about why all those XR2's were passing him today Charlie??  Also went and introduced myself to Derek McDougall who was busy working away on his car. Another nice chap who helps prove club racers are the best.  Not sure how many XR2's were on track today, probably somewhere between 10 - 15. Nick was definitely pushing hard, 2 wheel material at most corners.....and the number 6 suits his car better! Sandy Forrest seemed to have a rough sounding car in the 3rd XR2 session - sounded like a misfire / backfire?? The Legends were going good, natural Legend style is locking back left into Duffus usually, and in the afternoon it was as good as a race - 4 car trains, even at one point there was a 7 car train of cars following each other round the track. Saloons & Sportscars had the usual suspects - a bunch of Caterhams, the MG ZR, and a couple of Sierra's, and new to the series was a Radical ( I think?) and an unidentified flying black beast (regular sportscar shape though). It caused a red flag at the bottom of Duffus in the last S&S session, not sure why... As for the Formula Fords - if I had watched them I would of woken up at Knockhill tomorrow morning. They may be good but they just bore me rigid... But in saying that, I think there's an improvement on the number of cars from last year! i'm impressed with how much i wrote there!! Hope it gives everybody some insight to today's goings on, and it'll be followed with some pictures soon... I'm knackered now, never realised how boring long motorway journeys were.. |

Hiya all, good day of testing for the legends with up to 15 running i think, i was part of that 4/7 car test (race) during the afternoon, blows away the cobwebs sitting 3 abreast into the hearpin, no major incidentcs for us , quite a lot of novices getting up to speed plus the usual suspects pushing on.
my arms are falling off after 5 sessions this afternoon, looks like im in car 23 for most of the year

Lets hope your arms stay on Lance!  There are some pretty wicked colourschemes in the Legends this year, two at least are very nice! |

A good day had by all by the sounds of it - we even had some great weather. Lance - I know what you mean. I only did the morning sessions and my arms and shoulders are really hurting today! I noticed a few legends with some pretty tricky designs. I've also heard that there's a Turquoise FF zetec around somewhere - I wonder where they got that idea from...  |

Sounds like a fun day. Be interested to know what the black sportscar was...
Saw one of the minis on Saturday going past my house complete with all of the stickers. They look quite smart (for the time being). I think it was no 6 or 7 (was concentrating on driving the other way...)
