Does anybody know how close the 750 MC XR2 regs are to the Scottish regs? I'm looking at a car built to 750MC Stock Hatch regs to get involved with the xr2 mayhem?

Colin,
The 750MC don't run an XR Challenge, just a stock hatch. They may be similar but there are no restrictions on specific part numbers as there are in the XR Challenge regs. It may be likely that you'll need to change the engine, ignition, carb, manifolds, brakes.....and so on. My advice would be to buy an XR Challenge car that currently runs in an XR Challenge series as it will conform to the regs.
Cheers Barry

If you are looking to join the Scottish XR2 series I would strongly advise you against buying any ready made XR2 race car that is not known in the Scottish race series. Many English or other series cars have been bought in the past and have found to be illegal in so many ways. Making them legal for the Scottish series then involves a lot of time, effort and cash. The Scottish series is quite tightly controlled and hence you know the playing field is very even.
Cars are available up here from around £1500 to £6500. So it would be a lot easier in my humble opinion if you buoght a Scottish car. I know of about 5/6 that are available to suit all budgets (no, I'm not on commission). Let me know if you want more info.

There was a fire at Nicks IP's site and he lost a lot of stuff from his website.
This may have been a victim of that

Presumably these costs can be reduced with a little self help? Is this the cheapest series to race in? I thaught I might get away with £5-6000!!!! Colin

I would imagine so - Nick paid ICR to run his car for him - if you do it yourself then I imagine you'd save a bit, but it's a bit of a struggle.
