Chris Edwards has just given me a list of the drivers currently entered for this years XR championship. There are 28 names on it. There are some new boys and some noteable omissions including the Moon River boys and Norm. Also no sign of the reigning champ or last years newcomers champ. All in all I think there are about maybe 7/8 of last years drivers still to enter (I would imagine they will all do so) and with a few others which will no doubt be there if not for the first race then at some point during the season.
Looks like the XR2 grid will be as healthy as usual with qualification races from the very outset.
I don't feel I can "publish" the list of drivers as yet, not least because it is almost certainly incomplete.

Yikes, there's a few people missing that I'd expect to be there, from the sounds of things! Surely Keith and Allan will be back? And I couldn't imagine not having Norm and Team Moon River around, either - hope you make it!  Good to see there's so many entries, anyway - 28 with several of last year's lot still to enter sounds great  |

This really is getting more confusing by the day! I thought I was registered! I have sent off for, and received, my SMRC (racing) membership for the year, and thought that I was to await the SMRC blue annual to then send off race entries. Anyway, I will be there, even if the fact that the engine is in numerous bits strewn across my sister's garage does not bode well at the moment! Presumably Neil's search for a bumper corner means that he will be back too?
Great to hear about the good level of entries though.
Re testing John, it is looking pretty grim for me as I think I won't be able to go out on the track until qualification on the 13th April due to a wedding that Saturday and stag weekend two weeks before. Maybe the large number of entries isn't so good after all if I hope to make the final that weekend...... Looks like pre season testing will have to be driving round, and round, and round the lower paddock!
Also, is it Steve Shaws old car that you are buying?

Chris did tell me that he would send me an updated list soon so please everyone - no jumping to conclusions !
When I get that revised list and if there are still noteable omissions then I will probably contact the driver concerned.
Norm - The car I might be buying isn't Steve's old car it is merely parked in his drive at the moment. Also bad news re the testing - you are quick enough to make the finals anyway...

I spoke to Alan the other week and he is definately doing the XR2's again - knowing Alan, he probabl hasn't got his act together and sent the form off. Andy is also notable for late entries and after spending a lot of money on that roll cage, he will certainly be out in 2003.
John - I presume I am on Chris's list?
