Just watched it, didnt realise the last couple of laps at the front were so action packed, can't believe the guy in the white ST threw himself of the road like that

Pressure got to him I think ! That looked a nice clean drive Nick, best out of the top 3 IMO! You got a few mentions with your camera, John.

cheers. Yeah, it was a good race - Ben was too busy watching Dan Rose and me battling and overcooked it into Druids (on what turned out to be the final lap!). It was VERY slippery through Druids that day - how Dan managed to win the race when he was third at Knickerbrook I'll never know!!! Good move on me though so fair play...

What's the general view on the STs Nick?
The numbers seem to be steadily increasing so is it likely they might end up with their own race independent of the XRs next year?

Yep - it's taking off nicely - there are currently 5 cars out - we will have 4 cars out at Brands Hatch for the last meeting ourselves!
We don't race with the XRs - Class A is the Si model and Class B is the Zetecs. At Lydden, class B ran by thermeselves due to our huge grid sizes.
It is anticipated that eventually the STs may end up in their own single make series - probably in 2009...

who will be driving at brands ? You, John Findlay, Stuart Scott and special guest driver Andrew Winchester in the fully sponsored drive ? Couple of things I was thinking when watching it the other night. What bhp is the ST making, I think I remember you talking about ECU probs so you hadn't upgraded from 150 to 180 as you planned to, is that sorted now ? Is it 5 or 6spd and do you use ABS or deactivate it ? What do you expect to have to do in the way of engine and gearbox rebuilds in the future ?

Re 4th driver, it depends on who speaks nicely to Iain... We're running standard ECU now and there is no plan to upgrade after the initial trials by Dan and Ben. So you're right, we are at 150 bhp. Box is standard 5 speed although even at Anglesey, we didn't quite get into 5th (we were pulling around 130 before braking into Rocket). ABS has to be standard - you can't take it off - it's in the regs. The brakes on the STs are AMAZING - they really are that good (so good I needed to use capitals!!! ) Regarding engine / box, not really sure - I don't think there's a right lot you can do to them. They seem to be strong - the only issues that we have seen so far is wheel bearings (Ben has been through three to date). Nick.

Rear wheel bearings? This seems to be a classic Fiesta characteristic...

Ford's in general are bad, I had an Escort once that needed all 4 done.
