What were the first impressions Nick?

...really impressed. Although I couldn't test properly due to being a 'speed sunday', I managed two decent sessions. The slicks seem pretty good once you get the heat into them, gearing is superb once you get used to the clutch and the handling is excellent.
We're sat very low in the car to keep the weight low and it feels really strange against an XR2 as the windscreen is massive and you can't see the bonnet at all - weird at first but you soon get used to it.
The AST suspension is mind-boggling - we'll mess about with it (technical term) at Anglesey to figure it out - same goes for tyre pressures etc.
As Anglesey is a brand new circuit, it is ideal for us to get an idea of where we are against everyone else as they will not have tested there either...
Nick.

Anglesey will be grippy as well with the new tar, won't that lead you up the wrong path with suspension settings perhaps ?

Tinted windows - yes, they are tinted from when it was a road car but you can see through them... Richard - if I was a marshall, to check if the driver is OK, I'd probably look through the big clear window at the front... Nick, I am just concerned that you get to the ciruit at the 1st race after you've spent so much money on it and they won't let you race because you have tinted of windows, we've had it happen to us with historic cars before! Just warning you. You'd better find out from the MSA or the controlling body for the championship.

Richard - I've spoken to the chief Ford eligibility scrutineer and he says it's not a problem with factory fitted tinted glass. You can see through the windows so it would not be a problem with the marshalls. Blair - yes, it will be interesting. We are going to play about with the suspension all day on the Friday test to figure out what works...and what doesn't! Nick.

Is that the AST suspension which has about twelve different settings?

AWSponsor - yep, we are all on the trick AST suspension - it will be itneresting experimenting at Anglesey as there is so much you can adjust....I think the technical term is a lot of 'twiddely-bits'... Nick.

Sound like fun..
What will you do? If it's dry go to extreme hard all round and then wind it off a couple of notches at a time... and if it's wet go to extreme soft and then go the opposite way.. ??
You need a data logger... ;D
Do you have a "team" to come with you...?

Unfounded elitism removed after yet more complaints.A full adjustable sportscar is (in my opinion) a lot of fun! We used to have great fun setting up the Tiga for Knockhill, Ingliston and Croft in 1 season, gear ratios, suspension setups etc etc! It was fun!
