Nick & I are just back from Silverstone where the Fiestas were racing. Nick saw yesterday's race as well. It was sorching ! Met a few of the guys which was good.
There were two STs racing alongside the Zetecs and the Si's. In today's race they finished 1st & 2nd and pulled away from the rest of the field. All looking good for the season ! Look out for the races on TV !

Look out for the races on TV ! Keep us posted John, although I suspect it will be the same AMG TV production slot that we are in. Just need a date.

AMG's website seems to indicate 4th May for the Fiestas on Motors TV and 16th May on C5.

Interesting weekedn at Silverstone. In the first race, Danny Rose was second to an Si on the grid and they battled throughout with Danny finishing 2nd. The 2nd ST didn't get chance to qualify so started at the back of the grid and eventually finished 9th.
In the second race (as John says) the STs were 1st and 2nd with only the fastest Si cars anywhere close.
I watched most of the racing and am plleased to report that the driving standards were very good - there was contact but generally appeared to be 'racing-incidents'.
Can't wait to join them on the grid now!
Nick.

For those who are interested, you can view the results / lap times etc at www.msttiming.com - under the BRSCC section... Interestingly, the font running Si racers put in very similar lap times. Speaking with Danny Rose (2006 champion), he said that the ST handling is amazing now that we have finsized the suspension, wheels and tyres. Apparently, the Dunlop slicks are really good too - Danny told us that they just keep getting better as the race goes on rather than going off... Cheers, Nick.

looking at the qualifying times of the ford fiestas and the XR challenge is quite interesting, I would have been 10th and 5th on their grid looking at my qualifying time from 2006. Don't both these series have regs that allow much more powerful cars than our XR2s ? (except the zetec fiestas) The ST sounds like its going to be pretty good to race then, I wouldn't mind a drive in one. But it would have to be a subsidised one !

Andrew - have a word with AWSponsor... I'm sure if you speak nicely to John and myself, we can sort you a test out at the back end of the season... The BRSCC XR Challenge has fairly similar regs but I think they are allowed to do some changes that make them a little quicker that the Socttish series can't do. N.

Henry - thanks for the info for the damaged car - we will eventually be wanting more cars but we need to get the first ones built and tested before we start the third car...
Please keep an eye out for bargains though!
Cheers, Nick.
