Thanks for posting the pics - it looks very good !
Thanks to Willie for doing such a good job on Nick's but now you know where everything goes hopefully mine will be a lot easier !
The cages were bought as a giant meccano set, with a DVD of how to fit them / put them together. Unfortunately ICR told me that the DVD didn't match up to the kit that was bought so probably just ended up confusing things !
Charlie, I hear the dashboard had to be cut in two to get it back in ?

Top job willie! The cage looks really good - just wait until I impact test it! The dash looks pretty good since we had to cut it in half - nice tidy job... Charlie - I have already reserved a third race number with the BRSCC - we have 40, 41 & 42 so get yourself a car built! Nick.

Rumor is true, but I don't expect it will be this season.
Build will probably be from a salvage job and new bodyshell, with other bits sourced where and when money becomes available.
Bits that 'fall off' your cars will probably get used too ;D
Or I may just wait for Iain and do a Bend it Mend it hire deal

Just wondering, did Mr C not tempt you with the idea of a CSR? About the same moheny.

Nah, I'm a saloon car man although I do enjoy watching the Caterhams - and I scared myself silly in one at Croft on a test day...

STs should be reasonably cost effective... Initial capital cost might be higher but I can't see that the actual running costs would be a huge amount more than an XR2... Ford bits are relatively good value for money and as tough as old boots and the chances of destroying an engine are low given it's got things like rev limiters. Also I would assume Ford have come up with a decent design back axle now that will better survive the curbs.. All these things help..
On the other hand bits for Caterhams are very expensive... Who was it that ran into the tyre wall just before the hairpin last year? Seem to remember thinking at the time that the cost of the bits to replace his front left hand suspension assembly was darn nearly as much we'd spent all year on damage to Andrew's car... Ouch !!

What??? Surely you're not giving up XR2s Charlie... The world just wouldn't be the same ... Hopefully I'll try doing both, especially if just hiring the ST. ...or the gravel traps... Nick. No, Just trying different ones Just wondering, did Mr C not tempt you with the idea of a CSR? About the same moheny. I prefer something with a roof and a windscreen, you need it to keep the rain off ;D Oh! and a door that you can get out off ;D

"I prefer something with a roof and a windscreen, you need it to keep the rain off Oh! and a door that you can get out off" If thats the case Charlie, why a few years ago did you try and destroy the roof, windscreen and every other panel of an XR2 and try and exit via the tailgate I think the bits for the ST will cost a bit more than for an XR but hopefully we wont need as many !

Also I would assume Ford have come up with a decent design back axle now that will better survive the curbs.. All these things help.. They still use one of these solid beam rear axles, same as XR2 I presume? I think that makes a car more over-steery ?
