It's a bit quiet around here so to ease the boredom, what are your plans for the 2004 season? As most of you will be aware, I'm currently sorting out my XR2 for 2004 - latest info and pics will be posted on the website (www.ns-r.co.uk), but what's everyone else doing? I've heard that a few XR2 drivers have been trying out other series and a top FF Zetec racer has been testing one of our Caterhams... And wait for it - Charlie's going to be back - watch out gravel traps... Cheers, Nick www.ns-r.co.uk

Nick
As you know, I've tried one of Iain's Caterhams, but I'm still also considering the Scottish Mini's(depends primarily on whether they will improve the performance of the car and the SMRC allowing standard entry fees rather than a lump sum for the years entries up front). I'm also potentially interested in the MG Car Club MG ZR series, but this depends on both the availability of cars and finding an easy way of managing the transport issues for all of the away rounds!
Caterhams are still also an option, but its all still up in the air until either an appropriate car comes up or the SMRC make a decision on next years Mini package.
Cheers .. DC

I'll be standing in the rain with a notepad doing the same as this year, no doubt!

(depends primarily on whether they will improve the performance of the car I'd be more concerned about the performance of some of the other drivers! Good luck with whatever you all do anyway - good that Charlie's going to be out again... he always makes for a good story on the website! ;D

Assuming I don't get too buried in work like I have been for the past few months... I'm hoping to get the Ultima finished, out of hibernation and registered for the road in March (to get an early 04 reg). Hopefully I'll then have time and money to fit it out with some post registration essentials like fire extinguisher, isolator, a big CF rear wing and some running in! Should then be able to get it out on track to see how it and I perform. Depending on how that and my time goes it'll either be time for an ARDS test and an occasional outing in Sports and Saloons or just the odd track day for a bit of legal fun. Regardless of what I get up to on track myself I'll definitely be out there watching all the great racing at KH, Doune and the odd rally or two.

I demand that you get the Ultima out in the S+S at some point - sounds like it would be the best machine out there ;D

Car all stripped down and almost fully rebuilt. Still waiting to get wings repaired and repainted so almost ready for 2004.
I expect Legends will get to support F3, BTCC and Super V8's so the race calendar looks okay for Knockhill. Gap after F3 till 27th June but if Legends get an away race inbetween that would be ideal.
A few months ago I was thinking about doing the National Corgi Legends series in 2004 as they had a better space between races this year.
Sorry to my fellow competitors, looks like you'll be stuck with me at Knockhill after all in 2004! Ali.

It's not a 100% race car...as its missing anti-roll bars front and back...and moving to slicks upsets engine lubrication a lot...and I have to drive home in it...and they understeer everywhere. Guys like John Muir, Olly Ross, Brian and Raddy Sarafilovic will always be a lot quicker round the bendy bits. Of course that's before you worry about the loose nut with the novice cross behind the wheel... On the other hand it does have a passenger seat... I'll try my best.

Spoke too soon Legends not with BTCC also ? over Super V8's. Maybe premature saying I will stick to Knockhill. August 14/15th will be double header Legends plus double header National Corgi Legends. Thats 12 Legends races over 2 days, about 38 cars so should keep you lot happy Ali
