Just a bit of news for you - I've just got back from Knockhill after working on the car for a couple of days (visit www.ns-r.co.uk for photos).
Whilst we were there, there was a track day for the autocross thingy through the centre of the circuit. A very new-ish looking Subaru Impretza lost it at around 90 mph and barrel rolled big style, taking out the tyre wall.
The two guys in the car had to be cut out. The roof was cut off and the roll cage. After speaking to Ian (Forrest), it turns out that they are OK but were taken to hospital for checks. Looking at the car in the paddock afterwards, it was hard to recognise it as an Impretza - massive accident.
Sounds like Knockhill will be pulling the plug on these autocross dates now as this happens at every one.
Also, the Knockhill staff/Marshalls were fuming as after the accident happened, some of the other cars saw it and - wait for it - handbrake turned and went back to see if they were OK - i.e., drove in the WRONG DIRECTION! Mental!
Who says it's all quiet when the season finishes!
