Any word on entry numbers etc for this one? Um... if there's anybody still here from the relevant series, I guess - think almost everyone here is Fiestas now! Shame they're not going, but I'm looking forward to seeing Legends/Minis/Classics in action anyway, they all looked good on Motors tv from the first round. Weather forecast is currently pretty warm, think I'll get the suncream out
Well from a spectator's viewpoint that was a great weekend's racing! Classics are always a great spectacle, and seeing them flying through the wooded parts of the circuit is something special, loved that. Minis seemed pretty entertaining; I think every overtaking move happened at whatever part of the track I was not at, but it certainly looked close between 3-4 drivers at all times. Legends... were mayhem at times lol, I had a pretty decent view of the accident between Ross Mickel and Jon Higgins, was glad to see both walk away but ouch, the damage to those cars looked expensive. And Mickel was already in a spare car after something on Saturday (an accident? Didn't find out what happened there), so very much not his weekend.
Quite a lot of safety cars and red flags at times, in all races, a little unfortunate how many cars landed in dangerous positions I guss, but we still didn't have too many delays thankfully, and hopefully not too many really expensive repairbills for people. I do have to ask though (and I'm not criticisng, just curious): what in the world was going on with the grid formations of Legends in today's final, on both starts? Seemed to take forever to sort them out; at least it felt like forever when standing in that icy wind - it seems the Knockhill breeze was there, just to make everyone feel right at home
Gotta say I love Cadwell, I only wish I lived as near to it as I used to be to Knockhill, as if I did, I'd go there all the time! Very much hope the Scottish series come back next year; it was well worth making a weekend trip of it for me
One sorry looking Legend there! And here's how it happened, bit far away but just about tells the story (saw them both walking away afterwards, which I'm glad of, was a bit worrying seeing that much rolling!):
