granted WATCHING, not actually racing one! (I wish!!!!!). I'll be keeping an eye on the SMRC results whilst I'm away and best of luck for the 2011 season. After a yeat out in Vietnam, I'm flying out to Brisbane for a while on Tuesday. If anyone is interested in the national STs or is looking for a car, I have one for sale or for national race hire. Please contact Ian Fletcher direct in my absence for details - 07526 725 704 or ian@nicksandersonracing.com (copy me in nick@nicksandersonracing.com) Ian and James Byrne both did well at Silverstone and we will have the Wilson Brothers out at some point too so plenty of action still going on. Cheers for now, Nick www.nicksandersonracing.com

The V8s get a lot of interest here in the States, strangely - 2 hour show after each event. Planning to visit any races? Bathurst?

Enjoy Nick! I'm in Perth at the moment and the V8's will be here at the end of the month, so hoping to get up to the circuit for the day to see them. Tickets have trebled in price since I was last there 10 years ago though Baz

How about New Zealand. Same population as Scotland, five or six quite decent circuits and a V8 series as well. Must be heaven. The ratio of V8s to drivers will be even better than Oz

I'll get to the meetings at Ipswich and the Gold Coast but probably not Perth...the standard of the racing and the support package is excellent. I'll post up some piccies etc when I've been along to them - I'm flying out of Manc-chester tomorrow morning. Catch you all later, Nick www.nicksandersonracing.com

The Gold Coast race is awesome! I was at that one a couple of years back and loved every minute. The noise of 30 V8's on full chat on a street circuit is something very special. Make sure you concentrate your camera on the racing however and not the "entertainment" on the balconies of the city tower blocks overlooking the circuit!

At the V8's on Sunday...still love the spectacle, but the racing was awfy tame. Understandable from the teams point of view, they've got a race in two weeks and given they're all based over east and it'll take 3 days just to get the cars back over east you can see why none of them wanted to have a mere week to repair any damage. There were a couple of skirmishes, but it really did look like they were all told to just concede the place rather than risk the car (including losing the lead). Being careful didn't mean no incidents though...this is what happens when two V8's try to mate on the starting grid... www.youtube.com/watch?v=_PU3YFvgjPcSupport series, fabulous. The Fujitsu V8's (the 'pro-am' series if you like for older cars) was great with plenty action, and the V8 utes were fabulous too, there's dozens of them! Oh, no more esky's of beer, you're not allowed alcohol into the venue now. Or BBQ's, very un-Australian. Baz

Hi Baz - yep, you weren't allowed alcohol into the Gold Coast last year - it's so you have to BUY THEIRS!!!!
We'll be going up to Townsville in July, then all the ones down this side - are you gonna make one in to any of those???
We're looking at doing the final rounds in Sydney too...
Let me know if you'll be about...

I think the other side of it is that Australia has a massive drink driving problem...so one way to cut it is stop folk drinking in places where they have no option but to drive to get there.
Sadly only over here for a few weeks visiting in-laws, going home to sunny Scotland on Thursday. Plus Perth is somewhat remote from the East Coast...like a minimum 4 hour flight! I did make the trip to Philip Island for the World Superbikes back in 2002 when I lived here, what a weekend!
Enjoy
Baz

We were there a year ago and loved it!
